from an artistic point of view I agree. How can he re-release classic albums like Dirty Mind, 1999 etc without heavy editing. Look at the official live albums he does, the crowd noise is always edited way too low down, his track choices don't sit well together etc.

I think Prince will make a mess of any remastered material personally. The recent Pink Floyd remasters were absolutely excellent. The chances of Prince trusting anyone else do it? Nil. Shame really as it always smacks of arrogance the way he acts when it comes to his music. He can trust people to build his guitars, rigs, pedals, stage, clothes, studio, home, car and so on, so why not his music?

Or is it just that none of us have a fucking clue, or any right for that matter, to know what goes on in his head? Shame about the remasters though. About time we had some beautiful box set encompassing all his eras. And the boots. I mean, I've got money to spend on something like that
