I was just browsing in itunes and came across this song.

It seems to have been released on a various artists compilation album

that was released on december 13, 2011.

The album is called "acoustic sessions" and features song by various

artists such as lauryn hill, ledisi, bilal, raphael saadiq etc.

This has probably been reported before but I don't remember reading

about it on here and my search capabilities are rather limited tpim.

Oh, I live in The Netherlands, so not sure if it's for sale on itunes

in all places over the world, but it is here.

The song seems, on first listen, to be the same as the acoustic

version of Love that was released through 3121 as jam of the

week or whatever they called those songs they'd put up there.

I didn't know about it, so thank you. I'm guessing it's a higher bit-rate than the 3121.com file?

I haven't downloaded it yet, but it's bound to be better quality

since that 3121.com stream was only 96kb iirc.

3121.com was 192kbps

I'm not quite sure how legit this release is really. The Think Differently label have only ever done boots as far as I'm aware (the kind HMV have been known to stock before being quickly removed; they've done many on Outkast which come to mind...) Has anyone seen this on CD? I see the track is around 14 seconds shorter than the 'Jam of the Week' version too, although they do sound the same. I'd be interested to know what makes it a different edit, it's a great track.

Not here in the states but I did see the Dance 4 Me Remixes are there & suprisingly the When Will We Be Paid & U Make My Sunshine singles were there too. Strange but 3121 could not be found on Itunes except the Fury single

his whole itunes presence is a mess. songs that were on there, like F.U.N.K.

now no longer are. not all his mainstream albums are there. no post WB or

indi releases until Musicology etc etc.

he should really work to get every mainstream disc on there and a bunch of

his lesser known stuff too.

right now his itunes list is as unclear as his in store/in print listings.

I like it a lot. It just becomes a whole different song in this acoustic version.

But I like both versions.

I wish he'd do a whole album of acoustic versions of album tracks and a few

hits.

this reminded me of the acoustic version of 'space' that was on the space maxi.

that is just amazingly beautiful. the album version is a five star song but to hear

it in an acoustic version with that cool dreamy guitar strumming. that was cool.

and another good example of why prince should put all his music on itunes,

or if he has objections (understandably), he should at least consider to set

up his own online catalogue in similar style so that people who don't know

some of those brilliant gems that fell through the cracks can have a chance

to discover them too.

i've dreamt of a one stop prince shop for ages now. every single song on a

transparant, simple website with new stuff being added from time to time.

Whenever I get a new guitar student, I play them the album "Love" and then the acoustic "Love" so they can see what you can do with a guitar, and where it can go.

its not on the US iTunes.

It's not on princevault, though this makes it a "released" song and not only a "streamed" song only anymore...
