With all of the P fanboards shutting down

With all of them shutting down, I was wondering what's gonna happen next? I understand they disappear cause there is not much need to interact anymore, which is weird, cause I don't think facebook or any other social crappy sites are replacing them. Isn't it a bit weird really that they all closed down?!

Prince I will always miss and love U.

No, there is no other proper discussion forums other than the org. There is nobody who is actually making any proper work, who puts kinda effort into making this happen as it used to be, and bring some innovation back again.

The people are obviously still out there and during quiet and shit times like these, it'd be good to have something happenin again.

Thanks Shango!

The initial idea of the thread was if anyone knew if anything like HQ was on the pipeline by the people who used to set it up.

It's not hard to see why interest is waning. We haven't had a new Prince album since 2010 (or 2009 outside of Europe and the U.K.). He hasn't done a major U.S. tour since 2004. We've had lots of negative stories about his financial and personal problems to talk about, but those do not bring in new members. There are more current members losing interest than there are new members coming in. I don't know if there's anything that can be done about the problem.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

I don't see this as the problem at all. He was on tour, and no album release is no reason for waning interest either.

Personally, i think there are several factors.

1. He said no album soon. This is more so important for people that don't wanna go to gigs.

2. The gigs were great but lotta people were not very happy for reasons we have disussed here many times (sound problems, cover songs)

3. Issue with Andy Allo. Not talking about their personal relationship, but rather her input to the band, and all the buzz that went along, still waiting (not!)

4. The problems he appeared to have caused with the band names.

All in all, there were lots of negativity and I understand why people decided to take some time off.

Another very valid reason, is the way he treats his fanbase!! The lawsuits heaped on ANYONE who tries to start up new online ventures for him and about him!!! The fact that fans cannot openly express themselves about him without having their hands tied and having gag orders!! The cease and desist orders on such sites as You Tube, being another example!!

Hes not exactly one of the most fan-friendly artists around, either in the past or now and probably not even in the future either!!!

To put it in a nutshell - PEOPLE HAVE JUST GIVEN UP ON HIM!!! sad sad sad

add that he doesn't even promote a lot of the music from his albums in the last 5 years. And doesn't feature much music from the later 1990's till now in the live shows. Which is 1 reason I HATE most of his 'covers'

The lawsuits with fans happened years ago, it's time to move on. I see hundreds and hundreds of videos on utube. While I think this is great at the same time as a fan I feel as if his music is being devaluated. I still haven't decided if this is what I wanna see to that extent on utube.

Prince doesn't care for the fans, this year he made it very clear. I am not sure if he cared before, cause I never thought about it. This year we also witnessed the worst gig in his career, the happening in Cologne! Surely, he had to reflect about the gigs.

As for the musical output...whatever!

Overall, I am not necessarily saying this is all negative if he wants to have a break, if he wants to have NPG in its current line up, if he wants to have Andy in the band though I see nothing exciting about her.

I'm wondering if the interest is waning because on the focus of Andy's album or all the other gigs 07 etc.?!

Personally, I'm not interested in Andy's album, but I listen to the snippets she posts, cause I think I may hear Prince. She should find another way to show her talents instead of fooling people. I really hate this.

Edit: Whatever

This was my first dive into social networking, and man was it a dive nuts. But I like it here, so no complaints.

However I notice alot of artist have there own official fanboards on there websites, or some official fan facebook/twitter page, where all the fans flock. Prince doesnt, so in away I think its cool, that most fans have flocked to the unofficial Org.

But I guess nothing to hot is happening with P, for there to be a hundred boards for P. & I dont think he's gained enough fans in the last 10yrs for ppl to bother spending time and money own creating there own site for Prince. Most of us have been fans for 14 to 33yrs so?

However its incredibly sad 2 c ppl who hate the Org, or dislike it. Now have to come here 2 discuss there favorite artist, bcuz theres little other outlets. Other sites im guessing arent as arguementive as this one?

There aren't many other sites, and those that survive don't seem to get much traffic. MoQuake closed down. I don't know how long prince.org will keep going, but it will be a sad day if we lose the org too.

Some sites just shut down but I'm sure there's still some message boards out there.
