Good Love/Mahler

I am sure you have noticed the references Prince makes to Gustav Mahler on his b-side Good Love. I am not familiar enough with GM to know this, but is there a snippet of that particular Mahler piece within the Prince song? There is a little keyboard part right at the end that I always wondered about being a Mahler quote.

I can honestly say I have never listened to Mahler's third, trying to figure out if Prince might have lifted a melodic line.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes. Mahler's 3rd Symphony has that line, although with less swing.

He mentions Mahler in I Hate U, too.

And he mentioned him during an interview.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

This year is the 100th anniversary of Gustav Mahler's death, so there's a lot of concerts in many cities, you could probably catch the Third too.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic is going to perform all of his symphonic works (the "Mahler Project," led by Gustavo Dudamel). My neighbor is an oboist in the orchestra, and my daughter's children's chorus will be performing Mahler's 8th on Feb. 4. So it's all Mahler nowadays at our house.

There's a little info on Mahler here:

Mahler has A LOT of very interesting music. I learned of Mahler during my composition student years and I can say he's a juggernaut.
