Question. How little is Prince in real life?

Many celebrities from Howard Stern to Kevin Smith to Kesha have said how surprisingly small Prince is in real life. I was at the concert in Toronto a month ago and before it began my sister was walking around the arena and she said she thought she saw Prince in disguise with fake buck teeth and a wig. The security guard told her it was him but she's not sure. In any case she was surprised at how petite he was if that was in fact him even with her knowing for years that he's around five foot two or three.Ive seen a few movie stars at events and whether it be Sly Stalone or Mark Walberg they too seemed much shorter than I thought they would be.So is Prince that small in person and if so how has such a small man even with his insane drive been so incredibly successful in life and with women.

i hear being small is normally a real handicap with the ladies, but size certainly doesn't matter regarding success in life or on stage. And once he's on stage, nobody cares about his stature. It's like an instinctual reaction for people (men and women) to be attracted to anyone who gets on a special platform and becomes the focus of everyone's attention.

On top of that there's a fair amount of hollywood magic that makes him appear, at the very least, well proportioned.

I always admire people who really understand how to present themselves in the best way. I'm not just talking about Prince making himself look bigger. These people have a great understanding of the aesthetics of the human body that I think is really impressive.

Of course it's a given that's it's admirable. I just can't figure Prince out. I was seventh row and he looked fair sized in relation to the others on stage.I remember though at the end of SNL in 06 when he stood next to Steve Martin even with his pumps he looked painfully small.A friend of mine was his sound engineer on a tour in the late nineties. He said he seemed 5'7 with the boots. He said his aura made him seem much bigger. As if he had a force field around him. I always found that fascinating.

Yes. His name is Morris Day.

oh my god. Now we shorties can't even be successful in life without coming off as a surprise? ='(

For the longest time, I've wondered the same thing, what if Prince was taller? would that have been helpful for his career? And what if Prince was ugly? Would that have been a detriment for his success because it may have gotten in the way of him becoming a sex symbol?

There are so many what ifs. My conclusion is just that his height actually adds some uniqueness and originality;a short male sex symbol, something u don't see everyday from Hollywood - and I think his physical figure is versatile in a way that he's tiny body can look venerable and quite feminine for certain song & performances but he can show off his arms&abs and hire backup dancers who are tinier than him to stress his masculinity..lol

Little. lol.

But that makes him so unique, he is really small in real life. But that makes him unique, I can't imagine him being tall.

He is just sexy, even when he is small. He is around 1.55 or 1.58 I think. So that's small for a man of course, but he when he put his heels he is like 10 cm bigger.. 1.60.. and that's only 5 cm smaller than me. lol

Prince is 6'5". He has his image altered to look really small because he knows there has never been a successful 6'5" rock musician, but there have been thousands of successful small-of-stature musicians.

He was planning this even as long ago as junior high, when he should have been the basketball team's center but convinced the coach to play him at point guard.

True. But he's also the first one I think of any time someone says they saw Prince roaming around out in the audience at a show - because he's done it so often. lol

Every time I see threads like this it bothers me. I saw Prince on his Musicology tour and he was barely visible on the stage due to his size, but listening to the audience and all the fun and happiness everybody experienced just from his performance-his size really doesn't matter. He has brought people joy with his music and that says alot. heart ya Prince

When he sang with Lenny Kravitx on Rave he didn't look that short.Isnt Lenny 5'8 or 5'9 and he was about as big as him. With the heels of course.

Prince, Angus Young from AC/DC, and Paul Simon are around the same height.

They're taller than Hayden Pannetiere, Lil Kim, and Danny DeVito.

Adorecream

About the same as Carlton from Fresh Prince around 5 foot 2 to 5 foot 4 without heels. Technically any fully jointed adult under 5 feet is a midget, and under 4 feet is a dwarf. A person above this height is just short. Yet as on the Fresh Prince, these people always get a lot of shit about their stature too. But thats just human nature, you are always going to get ripped on, if you are too short, tall, fat, skinny, ugly etc, but mostly its small minded people who can't see things inside.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
