I'm also glad he resurrected Gold this year. While it was interesting to hear them back-to-back (was he acknowledging their similarity by doing this?) I also think it would be better to space them out within the set. I personally think The Love We Make is a more powerful song than Gold, but the live performances in '09 didn't really capture this as they were marred by Prince treating it as a late soundcheck. It would be good if he played that again. That would be a big 3: Gold, Purple Rain, The Love We Make.
I remember seeing Prince in London during the ONA tour and he did Empty Room, The Ladder and Anna Stesia all in the same show. "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..." |

Of course, everyone has different tastes and opinions. 'Gold' was/is a popular song. Clearly a lot of fans love it, and it was even a top 10 hit in the UK. I'm sure it'd go over well if he did it live again. |

I hate to admit it, but I'm definitely more Gold than Purple. Gold means so much more to me  Love hearing Purple Rain live too, but not over Gold. Think Gold is better when it's last in line.....the ultimate finale that will always leave u wanting more. |
