THE BEAUTIFUL ONES

Just put it on and listen...

I love this song! Though I wouldn't change it, sometimes I imagine what it would be like minus the screeching of Prince's voice at the end. But I guess it works as a kind of cry of desperation.

Just a very enchanting piece of music*

Loved Sexy MF with the horn parts better as well. Especially during the that TV show, with George Clinton, The Crayons, Carmen Electra...what was that called?

Yes, the song is fabulous. BUT more importantly - you have Wham! in your signature!

Ah that takes me back...

One of his best - if only some of you could have heard what that sounded like in '84!! It just shat on everything else (as did the PR album).

yeah, it makes me wonder why anyone would even want to imagine what it would sound like without the screaming... that makes the song... it's a good song all the way through... but when he starts screaming and emotion starts bursting out, that's when the song becomes muthafuckin' great...... that's when you really start to feel that shit...

it's like a james brown ballad... you can feel what he's saying in the lyrics, but when he just starts screaming "yaaahhh, baby", it speaks more about how he feels than any lyric in the world"...

that's the same feeling i get when i hear prince screaming "baby, baby, baby, listen to me"...

gotta break this one out now...

nod

It made me take off what was playin and put rain on ..damn it lol. But yeah the screaming now that u mention it is james brownish but also John Lennonish ..the whole prinmal scream element that Lennon used a few times solo was something I kept reading about back then. Who can't resist when he breaks it down screamin his anguish and desire?

yeah, it halfway reminds me of the james brown song "oh, baby don't you weep"...

oh baby don't you weep
aaahooohahahh baby
oh baby don't you weep
i believe if i scream a little bit louder, ya just might come back home, babe
aahhh ahhh ahhh yweaaah baby

then it also gives me the feel of "mother" by john lennon... either the full-lenght version or the live version... mama don't gooo, daddy come home...

love that shit...

This song has been a fav ever since PR came out. Can yall remember seeing this in the movie for the very first time.

Hell, I was boo-hooing all over the place.

This song is so powerful and soulful, definitely one of P's greatest love songs.

If I wasn't at work, I'd be playing this with yall.
