Guitar solo on Kiss

To me, the guitar solo on Kiss is one of Prince's best. Then I'm reading at Prince Vault that the solo is played by Craig "Screamer" Powell of Mazarati (http://www.princevault.co...27s_Parade)

But the guitar solo in the bootleg of the Mazarati version is definitely not what's on the Prince & the Rev released version.

So who played the solo?

So I wonder why Prince Vault has it different? I just sent them email to ask.

And I agree, the timing on that solo sick. It needs to get more props.

^This.

And yay to the point about giving the solo more props. Kiss kinda slides under the radar in this manner. Methinks we might take the sheer magic of this track for granted sometimes. I know I do. It's nice to be reminded how great these things really are. cool

Trust your ear and you can go and read about kiss on Songfacts site.

After taking Mazarati's demo back

he removed David Rivkins Hi Hat ,stripped the bass down and added his vocals and all guitars.

Prince also left Mazarati's members back vocals

like it was on the Mazarati demo.

little trivia about Prince credits:

Did you know that Wendy is credited as a guitar soloist on In A Spanish Vila and Alexa De Paris, but it was Prince playing those guitar solos.

Do you know that Prince credited Andy Allo as a co-writer of Extra Lovable?

Where is Wendy credited as the soloist on Alexa De Paris? I'm looking at the 12" right now, and I don't see her mentioned.

And surely the Extraloveable credit relates to Andy's rap? Doesn't seem too far fetched to think she wrote that part, does it?
