Prince...you show 'em!!

Which song would you like Prince to play live at some awards show (Grammies etc...) that would show the world the avant-garde side of Prince that most of us like? In other words, instead of playing the usual commercial hits like PR, 1999, Kiss schtick which he thinks people are more familiar with, how about Joy in Repetition or Question of U?

Then maybe the casual music fan might see a different, more serious side of Prince because unfortunately quite a few people are put off by his image and persona and don't give the music a chance.

Im always amazed at his guitar playing, and I think some people forget how awesome he is at it. So any song with a long guitar solo. guitar Maybe Dreamer or Crimson and Clover?

Agreed! Those songs might turn the Hendrix/LedZep/Stones/etc crowd on to Prince.

I think those 2 might just suggest Prince can only do covers or copies (come on guitar wise, Dreamer IS Hendrix...and I think the conspiracy theory lyrics may just focus on his nutty reputation).

Clever lyric wise I'd say IIWYGF (but most people would think TLC or Beyonce probably)

Guitar playing ...yeah probably Question Of U

He has never done anything avant - garde has he? it's just pop/rock some commercial, some not so commercial but avant - garde is a stretch.

Instead, of doing what the mainstream wants - fill them with "Awe and Love".

"Arboretum" would do the proper dose of both.

Love fills the air like feathers in the wind and balancing on the perfect SCALE.

I've always been partial to to perfromances he did of "Play In The Sunshine" on MTV and the one of "EndorphinMachine" on VH1 for the guitar playing.

If I had to pick a previously unperformed track I'd go with "Chaos & Disorder".

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Good point. How about I Like it There, another guitar track he's been playing recently.Still wish for something that prove P can rock with the best of them!

The thing is, note for note, his tracks don't really kick ass guitar wise...it's when he adds flourishes or embellishes them live they come alive...Endorphinmachine is a perfect example of that; the CD version is as flat as a witches tit with more cowbell than a Swiss cattle farmer...but live...phew!!!

Forget that though because it's a bit sexy and it's now the devils music.

I'm not obsessed with it, but I do love it played live.

I think if he played his version of a Case of U he would blow some people away with his piano skills. His rendition is simply beautiful.cool

Last December would be a stunner too.wink
