i feel like sometimes prince released songs before they were ripe just to keep up with his prolific image -- no complaints -- its better than someone with no fruit (like me?); but i'm kind of thankful for all these recording industry changes, because what else could influence prince to make a slow-baked perfectly whole cake like that which is cooking now?

We've heard quite a few new songs snuck into the live sets recently. Black Muse, We Came to Get Funky, People Pleaser and You're the One For Me come to mind. I'm hanging for some killer studio versions, I know the band is so well-rehearsed that they could bang em out in one day, all at once.

I'd love to have a high quality verison of Large Room With No Light too.

Whether he will actually bother is another matter.

You know what? He probably will bother, then chuck it in the vault. Or roll over it with his motorcycle.

There was that ruour he was recording in Switzerland too...

Well that rumor was right. He was recording in Switzerland, also in LA & Paisley Park

This is what Drfunkenberry said. He said we could expect new material sooner as we think.

I doubt Prince ever stopped recording, and he already had a wealth of material from the past few years that he hadn't released. Remember how some of the stuff on Lotusflow3r was from the 3121 sessions? Like I said, I don't mind an extended break if it means there's way more top-top-top-shelf material to choose from when he DOES decide to release another album.

It could be cash flow problems, he's touring to make sure the bank continues and that those royalty checks he gets for his songs being played on (now) classic R&B and rock radio (you know the selected ten ones they always play anyways) will help in how much he uses for studio time and also to market the albums he may have in the pipeline.

Prince makes millions when he´s touring. He should have millions on his bank account by now, regardless of the cost for his entourage.

Is studio time really THAT expensive that he needs to tour again to afford recording and marketing a new album? In this day and age where even no names easily make decent sounding albums with today´s technology?

And remember, dude has his own studio, too. So why would money for studio time be an issue?

Just wondering....

Um, that song is a COVER! And I don't believe People Pleaser is his track either.

He gave the answer when on Lopez Tonight: He's taking a break to see which way the music is going to flow. Nut it would be awesome if he got his groove togeter and set the next music pattern.

Don't care. 20Ten was utter shit.

However, I'm enjoying the bootlegs from the last year or so immensely. So as long as that continues, i'm happy.

Soooo.....you didn´t like Walk In The Sand and Future Soul Song?

I didn´t like where he was going with that album ( trying to emulate his former self in a bad way) and disliked almost every song on it but hey, two good songs for free makes the album half decent in my book. lol

It´s sad that his successors know much, much better how to recreate Prince´s old electrofunk sound.

I can't think of any form of entertainment i'd be interested in with such a low mark (2 out of 10) and on top of that, i also dislike those two songs. Plus it cost me the price of a shitty tabloid rag.
