Does anybody know if there's a comprehensive list of ALL Prince releases somewhere? I mean a list with all official releases on vinyl, CD, cassettes, laserdiscs, 8tracks, DAT's, DVD's etc. by Prince and associated artists - proteges and (ex-)bandmembers - (even if prince is no longer associated with them), plus covers of prince songs in all formats. A list like the vinyl database on Sleevographia but then with all the other formats as well. Regular commercial releases, promo's and compilations. Please help me out.....

You can gather most of this information from princevault.com, the wiki here, past threads etc. You're pretty much set.

I know. I started with that and now think it will cost me about 300 hours to make a complete list, based on the time I spend compiling only all the configurations of the first album and the singles from that album..... So if such a list allready exist...... that would be great.

I vaguely recall articles in Uptown or other fanmags about "exotic" formats like 8tracks and that they described how plenty of those were very hard to catalogue.

Don't forget that you'd need photos of all items (especially the rare stuff and the promos).

I recall the item lists from places like Madhouse Music, and those were insane -- and those only contained the stuff they were selling, so there was still a magnitude of items beyond those.

I'm sure some of that exists in bits and pieces, but I'm also sure plenty of it is incomplete and perhaps incorrect. This is something that should have been compiled over the past decade or so as a group effort, but doing it on your own? Quite frankly, this kind of thing would require a ton of help and scrutiny.

That's insane. You'd think this was documented somewhere before now.

I have a world wide releases list, lps, cds videos, dvds etc etc

Planning to put it online anytime soon

8 tracks were discontinued in 1988, so there might be a Sign O' The Times or Lovesexy out there. You'd have to dig up a Columbia House brochure from that time period or look through magazine ads.
