Some people are sick in the head. I think they secretly fantasize that Prince will read their comments defending him and invite them over to his house to be buddies.

Prince is a dishonorable business person and quite frankly, he's treated many people with a lot of disrespect. Just because he's made a lot of great music, doesn't mean his poor behavior should be ignored.

And stop calling this a bait thraed. If you don't like the content, move on and let people express their views freely.

Umm, no it didn't and I wish people would stop saying that. The site has NEVER been dedicated to Prince. For the umteenth time, this is what the founder of P.org says...

I’ve been saying since the site started that prince.org has nothing directly to do with Prince, but everything to do with the extremely diverse community that has grown out of past and present (and if he’s lucky, future) Prince fans.

I guess he forgot to add in the part about Prince detractors. Which begs the question of if you're not a Prince fan how did you wind up posting on Prince threads on Prince.Org? You're correct that this site has nothing DIRECTLY to do with Prince neither did Housequake or Moquake or any of the others out there. They are fan produced sites about Prince.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Maybe people defend Prince because they like and support him?

The same also hold true that just because of his poor behavior that his great music shouldn't be ignored, as well. It could be debated that some people have severely polarized views of Prince and for completely unrealistic reasons. I've never done business with him on a level to see his dishonorable side therefore I can't judge it. I can acknowledge that the music is great and formulate a opinion based uopn that. People constantly throw up the website as if Prince was sitting at a computer at home posting material and sewing t-shirts to mail out. There were a lot of individuals involved and as the same as with the break up of the Revolution we'll never know the whole story just bits and pieces. I never hear anyone chastise any other members of the Revolution or even Susannah for that matter on anything that happened to lead to the break up. It's a story we'll never know and everyone involved will probably tell you something different.

Not true either. There were people at HQ and MoQ who were frequently in direct contact with P.

He had plenty to say about Prince detractors...why don't you read the blog for yourself instead of making up stuff?

You touched another trolling alter.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

A friend as in they hang out and chill without it being an interview or a publicity event. Who know Prince's phone number and can call him up at a moments notice to kick it on the phone?

Is 'sodashoes' account was deleted, then why is there still a thread ('this is a morality question') on here? Wouldn't all of his/her posts be deleted when the account was deleted? I'm relatively new to the org and still learning how things work. Funny vid btw.

Nope. From what I've seen, anything that's posted on here stays, unless it was a locked thread [I think]. If you search for sodashoes, you won't find that person's page, but you'll still find their thread comments.....

Hey, you wanna chase down all the critics so you can wag your finger at them, fine...just tell the truth.

For some weird reason, y'all have this circular argument between so-called worshippers vs. haters almost daily when the reality is that what gets posted here is up to the site owner and the mods.

I guess that none of those people "in direct contact" was actually a friend of Prince? The original discussion was why do people feel the need to attack/defend Prince that I was having with someone else. Your friends can piss you off/disappoint you etc. because you know them well and they know you equally well. Some dude in Minneapolis that you've never met shouldn't be able to instill such feelings in you because he made some lousy business decisions! The fact is none of us "know" Prince. The people who defend him tend to do so out of respect for the work he's done and the music he's given them. Those that attack him seem to take personal issue with something he did in the past/present(not reuniting with the Revolution, remasters, being a JW, Lotusflow3r.com, et al). If you don't know him how can he affect you so negatively, anymore than a stranger walking down the street could?

Also. When I spoke of detractors I was referring to what somone said the founder of this site said about this site and Prince fans not anything that Prince has ever said.

Again, I was only addressing the two false statements you made but I see that you want me to address the topic...fair enough. lol

Personally, I seldom comment on the many side issues people love to debate on this site over and over again because I usually don't care one way or the other. A few years ago I had the opportunity to let P know, face to face what I think of him and that was enough for me.

Secondly, my position is that I don't view P as being above or below anyone else in this world. We are all capable of doing great and not so great things for which we will be either praised or criticized by others. The only difference is that high profile celebs are under more scutiny for good or ill.

Princey has been at this for over thirty years and he knows it comes with the territory. It hasn't stopped him from doing his thing, so that tells me that the critics bother y'all far more than they bother him.

I'll tell you the same thing I told NelsonR. It's kind of odd to obsess over a dozen or so mouthy critics on a fansite when P is still out there packing arenas and earning millions because that's all the evidence you need show you that the .org doesn't exactly have the final say about Prince, so why you mad? shrug

Except for the few real nutjobs, I think most of us "Prince Worshippers" know that he has plenty of significant faults and we definitely see him as human, what we see as superhuman is his talent. We believe that his gift is from God and that the music has a divine quality to it, much like looking at the Michaelangelo's sistene chapel.

If that's what "most of" you believe, I'd hate to hear what the "real nutjob" worshippers believe eek
