I've listened to Andy's music she made before meeting Prince and I like some of it. A young talent in development. The only test for her will be whether she holds true to her own muse and doesn't get swallowed up by Prince's overwhelming influence and fall to the side like so many other proteges with less talent.

MadamGoodnight

Chante Moore's voice blends in way better. The La, La La Means I Love U cover was delicious. Andy's voice is all over the place in the footage that I've seen.

I'd like 2 C Prince & his bassist doing more photoshots and onstage jamming. Put the singers on a set up near the drums and give some classic 3 man grooving

Yeah, and she is a good base player and looks good.

She seems like fun on stage. I remember a few pics with her playing around with Prince

Ditto that. Rhonda was great in the NPG. I'm on the fence about a Prince/Andy collab. It can go either way because I honestly don't think she's talented enough (or maybe just not developed enough) to have her own voice next to Prince, so I am not sure this would be a true collaboration. However, that doesn't mean that she wouldn't be a much-needed muse to him for some great music. She just doesn't seem to be on a level playing field with him. It's not like a Michael B.-Sonny T. collab or a Lisa-Wendy collab, or even a Sheila collab. Those were all artists that were at least musically on the same level as he was at the time. But I won't count it out. They may surprise me.

I think the fact that she isn't established yet, would actually be a good thing 4 Prince at this moment.

I think the one thing that I loved about the earlier band members ie Brownmark Dez Lisa Dr Fink Wendy even Sheila & the Time, is that even though they were musicians who could hold their own, they weren't extremeley influenced by some other person music. They were skilled and whatnot but not defined by playing with say James Brown (Eric Leeds did) or some other well known artist. So i think it worked in bring "Purple Music" to life. When he has Maceo or Larry play with him, they bring the sound of another band. (similarly with other artist he may play with) I think Andy could be like U said a muse that has some 'grassroots' background not tainted by playing with some other well known established musician.

i like andy allo's music a lot. prince musically has nearly every trump card up his sleeve. what he doesnt have is his youth & the hip-hop crowd. andy has youth & the potential to reach the hip-hop crowd. the reason prince & andy could work is that andy is not only defined by hip-hop. andy's musical taste stretches to jazz, soul, alternative, pop & easy-listening. ideally, there needs 2 be 2 projects. andy writing the songs & having the musical vision and prince using his musical genius 2 execute andy's musical vision on her album. (he would be 2 andy what quincy was 4 michael). On his own album of course he can do things like he always has incorporating andy into his vision. this would be a win-win situation for everybody.

Good point. Especially true about Maceo and Larry bringing the sound of other bands. Andy's inexperience may be a refreshing twist to Prince's music.

wow 2 pages discussion of sexy chick with no music talent.

Her guitar playing is rudamentary and less then basic.

Her vocals are not interesting at all and most of the time she sings off key.

The only thing good she can do is maybe

distract him from that JW cult.

Andy can play a few chords to her producer and producers translate some of the ideas.

But she can't play anything so what can she do to contribute to Prince's music.

Her guitar playing was inaudiable on all shows she "played with Prince".

The only good thing for Prince could be if he surrounds himself with musician superstar band

like Mesheel on bass and vox,Billy Cobham or Steve Copeland on drums and Chick Corea

and try to expand his sound.

Or he can do music with musican's who are not associated with Funk/R'n'b

get a rock or punk musicians or Heavy Metal ,maybe explore world music or orchestral.

Working with Andy will bring nothing new to a table.
