But what did people expect? The song is one of Prince´s more obscure songs, I didn´t expect Seal to know the lyrics. His performance was atrocious but did he have a lyric sheet, and did he rehearse the song a bit before he walked onto the stage?

I agree Seal did look uncomfortable, but Prince gave him exactly ZERO support so he had to guess what to do. Watch again and check out Seal looking for cues or help from the band. I think it's another example of Prince inviting celebs up to jam with him and then being an a-hole to them.

i agree with your point if the artist WAS NOT a professional musician

howmany times have we seen P bounce on stage as a guest..and get stuck right in

thats like saying pro footballers cant play with other teams becouse they need help

or professional nurses and doctors cant work in other ER'S

or proffesional farmers cant cut hay etc etc

these cats get paid what? 30 milion per annum

just goes to show how shit some of these guys are then

To be fair, you did kind of invite that response. You didn't mention where or what the performance was. Not everyone is following the boot scene so closely. Honestly, I had a vague memory that Seal showed up somewhere, but I had no idea what show/when. That's my preference, I care little for live shows, and current live shows even less.

I heard rumblings about this but never took the time to watch the video.

Now I have and what a bummer for Seal! Prince left him out there high and dry with no support. Instead he's over chatting with Andy Allo like he's discussing what kind of pancake mix to get for the afterhours party.

Come on P! You can see he's struggling with the lyrics!!

Seal is good. He just had no idea where to fit in. At one point one of the background singers tried to organize things and give Seal some support. Prince specifically tells her no. So what you end up with is Seal having no idea how to participate. The band was not playing the full melody of the song, apparantely on purpose, so Seal doesn't know if it's the chorus or the verse or what. Only AFTER Seal leaves the stage does Prince allow the band to play the full song. That's not right.

Shouldn't take too long for the overused "if you're a real Prince fan" comment to be thrown in somewhere by someone.

Not sure if Seal had a few too many drinks, his shirt was a mess.

Prince was was seen near John B having a giggle.....not a good look.

On a side note, I think Prince has been forgetting his lines in nearly every gig.
