There is a ton of amazing recordings, but don't discount audience recordings altogether, there are some real treasures out there.

And the reference boots list can be valid as that, a reference. In many cases the mentioned boots are by now heavily outdoned by many new titles, both tweakings and new sources.

Mentioning 'City Lights' can be a shortcut for the lister, f ex, but it no longer is a valid help for the boot-hunters. Same with much of the stuff on the Purple Rush series.

First Avenue '84 Birthday Show (4DF) has spoiled me off all other boots. Actually, it might be my favorite Prince record, period.

I love the '84 bday show but I wish the drum machine was quieter so I could hear the vocals better especially on somthing in the water and erotic city

The new "North Sea Nights" is an excellent audience recording & captures all 3 nights of the recent NSJ Festival. It's a pretty diverse sampling of the songs he's been playing on this tour too.
