2010 is great but it is clear that is not an album he is going to push. So bring us some new FONK for the 2011/2012. In fact he should drop an album every year and name it 2011, 2012, 2013 so on and so forth.

Everyone is going to agree with you about the new album, but not many are going to agree on calling it 2011, 2012 etc...

I'm not talking about there being no more albums period, I just think it would be a good idea for there not to be a new official release for a couple of years or more.

Yes yes yes! Prince doesn't need another crappy LotusFailu3r or 20ten. I hope he takes a hiatus and comes back with something AT LEAST on the level of 3121, or hopefully something more like GE. If he has anything else up his sleeve like 20ten he ought to make it available through a website for his hardcore fans only (IE like the slaughterhouse/Chocolate Invasion) As those are the only people who care about his eclectic work.

Both LOtUSFLOW3R and 20Ten better than 3121 in my opinion.

Yeah I am with you on that! One of quality! But to me ALL of Prince albums have some form of quality hidden there someone, it might take a while to grow on you though. I think Lotusflow3r is just exceptional! 20Ten is awesome too, but it was not released in the USA, and so; I am not giving it all the credit I would if it was. BUT it is still awesome, and I can jam to it occasionally. He spoiled us in a way, I mean releasing an album pretty much every year..makes us want another one.

Was he saying through Lotusflow3r/MplSound/ & Elixer..This would hold us up for 3 years? Haha..I doubt it. He has released 3 CD's before, and we did not have to wait this long..I just want another one.

A Quality SOLO effort by Prince..I would not mind a few embellishments here and there of course..BUT I WANT PRINCE! Prince the master at what he does! I want the guitar, the strange elements, the funk, and the feeling only Prince can conjure up. He has conditioned me as a fan to get that...Well occasionally the "WTF..was Prince thinking when he did this..." Haha.

Thankfully; I don't see this far from happening..WHY? Because Prince is a walking contradiction and he has denied making new albums long before now. ALSO..would he really want 20Ten to end his catalog? I mean..He has more power than that...He must know this..and he must be working on a new one. IF he does..I will not be surprised if Andy Allo is his protegee....The cycle begins! Poor Bria..and all the rest of them. Haha

I guess Prince is a bit predictable...YET mysteriously predictable..He knows how to have you wait.

...UNLESS it's something from the vault from at least 20 years ago.

he's said he is in studio rehab, that doesn't mean he couldn't release some vault stuff, i'd happily have a 14 track vault style compilation, while he waits for his muse to come back.

I would like a for a new album to go out. followed by a tour that is (for a large part) about that album.

^ LOL i would never do that to my Princey....however I just don't want him to rush so much over the albums...make sure they are higher quality before releasing....20TEN just sounded rushed to me. Lotusflow3r 3cd set was much better IMO

I liked 20ten's music but the lyrics left a little to be desired on a few of the tracks, noteably the little rap in the middle of a great track 'sticky like glue'.

I think I'd like him to release something controversial and a little out there.

I think he should do something like the Kaiser's did on their last album:

Let the fans compile an album out of 20+ available tracks, let them create the artwork and allow them to put a link to their creation on their websites/blogs and earn revenue on sales.

That way, you're chosing your favourite 10 tracks, so you can't moan about disliking the album, plus there's an incentive to promote your version of the album and get paid for it...

...and let's face it, we'd all buy the other available tracks as well, cause we're suckers!

Good idea but Prince would never cede that much control to fans ever!

He could do a subtler version like he did when he asked fans to choose tracks for Crystal Ball II out of a list of many...then the ones with the most votes make the album....
