Condorcet Album Poll: Diamonds And Pearls

This is the next installment in a series of polls ranking the songs on each album officially released by Prince or O+>. The goal of this project is to determine which tracks should be included in a final poll to determine the overall top 25 Prince songs in the opinion of his fans.

For those of you who haven’t been following the polls, these are different than the usual “best song” threads in that they combine the preferences of all the voters into an overall list.

I am going through these in the same order that they were ranked in the earlier poll of the best Prince albums. Now's the time of an album which has generated some discussion recently in prince.org: Diamonds And Pearls

So, the poll is now closed. We've had an exciting fight between Gett Off and Cream, with the former finally winning. Prince's choice of singles was excellent, if we look at the results. Maybe Frank Dileo had something to do with it... Discrepancies regarding the choice of singles in the Love Symbol album was precisely what prompted the breaking-off between Prince and Dileo.

There's no way in hell "Gett Off" is better than "Diamonds and Pearls"...

Not happy with the result. I was disappointed when that song came first in Peach & Black's top 20 songs of the 90s as well.

Interesting that three people prefer "Jughead" over "Gett Off."

Voted! I thought for sure Insatiable was number one...

It is indeed. By the way, I have its "melody" in my head for the last 2 or 3 hours. Anyone can help me?

I love Gett Off. I ranked it number one because it means a lot to me, but the fact is now I probably prefer Money Don't Matter 2Night. I've recently read Per Nilsen saying Prince sings it like the great Stevie Wonder. I've always loved how Prince sings the song, but Stevie never came to mind. But it's true!
