Ugggh Just that close to a perfect album

So i was listening to prince cd and i was thinking.. If it wasnt for Sexy MF or Damn U i can listen to this album and never have to skip a track just a perfect cd. so since i was doing something i couldnt touch my ipod i skipped My Name is prince (which i do like) to skip sexy mf and started with Love 2 the 9s...

So the question is ... 1 or 2 albums you think would been perfect if they didnt include that one or two song..

album name

1 or 2 tracks should of been deleted

I always thought they were two of the stronger tracks on the album. I would definitely get rid of I Wanna Melt with U, Arrogance and the Flow. And while i'm at it, I would get rid of those awful Kirsty Alley segues. uggghh!!

You're asking for albums that would be perfect start-to-finish if not for one or two weaker songs?

My picks are:

Parade - Anotherloverholenyohead boxed It's not terrible, but compared to the rest of the album, it's weak, and I usually skip it.

Sign O The Times - Hot Thing boxed Never liked this song...

Diamonds and Pearls - Daddy Pop, Walk Don't Walk, Push That's three songs, and I actually like Jughead

Come - Solo Come wouldn't be perfect without it, but it's way weaker than the rest of the songs

No. My name is prince is one of the shittiest songs ever recorded. Blue light isn't really good but still ok, the rest of the album is just great.

Wow, yeah. Lady Cab Driver is easily one of his greatest. Ballad of Dorothy Parker is among his top 10, and solo is an amazing vocal performance. This is something to study for vocalists.

Anyways, this is probably why it's impossible to discuss Prince. Opinions are often very opposite. And it's often the background of the listener that will point towards the direction we love the most. Some listeners might get more used to the "wierd" and hard to get into songs after a while. Since Prince is covering funk, rock, rnb, pop etc... people from all of these backgrounds will often have different favourites.

Exactly.. thats why I always hate orgers who create topics like "Song X is the worst thing ever written" or "Album Y is his worst since Graffiti Bridge"... Or if they create threads like that at least have the mindfulness to preface it with IMO. Whats horrible to you is always going to be a favorite to another.

Change it one more time..

That's why I like Prince. He doesn't sound the same. Compare two random songs; Future Soul Song and Computer Blue. If I wasn't fam, and someone tell me, the same artist made these songs, I would never believe. They are completely diffrent. Let's get back on it, I'm not very into 80's. I just like more 90's, <+)O and New Power Generation. NPG sounds a way more diffrent than P.'s songs from 1999, ATWIAD or SOTT. May that's reason why i don't like so much SOTT. I know a lot of people who like The Rainbow Children and i know a lot who don't. I personally can't stand this album (expect Last December and She Loves Me 4 Me). Prince has a diffrent faces; every fan can find something for himself. Don't hate me. smile

Shockedelicus

"Free" totally kills the mood in 1999. He should have replaced it with Irresistable Bitch.

Otherwise, what he leaves out bothers me more than what he throws in. The B-Sides should have made it onto the albums.

To me 1999 is a classic, however, Free is the one song on the album that I tend to skip the most. If it were up to me, I would replace it with Moonbeam Levels and I would also have the extended version of Delirious. With Purlple Rain, I would take out Take Me With U and have the full length versions of Let's Go Crazy, The Beautiful Ones, Computer Blue, Darling Nikki, and add Father's Song to the tracklist. Diamonds and Pearls and the Symbol albums are very good but I would get rid of the record scratches and especially Tony M. Btw, SOTT is a masterpiece but I would prefer the original Crystall Ball configuration.
