Not sure of the reasons behind why he chose not to perform but he did send them a video for the track '4 The Tears In Your Eyes'. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

He was probably totally exhausted from the Purple Rain world tour. I do know that the day after I attended the show here in New Orleans he recorded 4 the tears in your eyes. Recorded in The Superdome (New Orleans).

Yes.. He offered the song 4 The Tears In Your Eyes instead, to the USA For Africa album.
but a lot of angry reactions towards Prince because of he did not participate in that Michael Jackson event.. "We Are The World", I am glad Prince did not sing on that very baaaad cringeworthy song..
that song is so bad it is almost funny....

We as fans definitely reaped the rewards for him not doing We Are The World. We got '4 The Tears In Your Eyes' both the song and the video and also 'Hello'. He had just announced that he was quitting touring to 'go look for the ladder'. It thought it was cool that he did the video instead. | |
