Firstly, everyone has some weird growth patterns, thin spots, cowlicks, and variations. Everyone. It doesn't mean you're going bald. You see it on children with healthy growth patterns, but some haircuts make it more evident.

Secondly, if you have Black hair, and you're using chemicals on it your whole life, it will take effect. If you have curly hair and you use chemicals on it your whole life, it will take effect.

Thirdly, if you have curly hair, and you straighten it and make a drastic part, the area where it's parted will show skin.

Fourthly, volume means you're raising the hair up, like a blow out, it makes it look fuller but less dense then pressing it down to the scalp tightly. Speaking of dense.....oh nevermind. Next you'll turn this into some baldie pride issue. Oh wait. Did that.

Edit to add: It actually does matter. Like talking about weight, there's no reason to call that head of hair bald and promote insecurities. That's a full head of healthy hair, and we should all look half as good at that age.

It's ok no need to be sorry, because I never said his hair wasn't thinning, I just basically stated that at times one's hair can appear thin, when freshly permed/hot-curled, etc. which was just another "possiblity" to his hair appearing thin. It's all good. Take care now.

No, to me it doesn't appear that way at all. His hair looks good, freshly cut, well kept and neat. Anyway, I'm going to get off the topic of his hair, and to be honest, don't know why I even took part in a discussion about that, especially since his hair has nothing to do with the music he plays. So I'm just going to leave that topic alone, and just say that those photos posted of him, are some very nice pics.

His hair is just thinner on top than it used to be. It happens to us all and usually at a much earlier age than it has happened to Prince. He's got a lot more years before he starts actually balding, that is, if he ever does.

He's got it straight and it looks like he's had it curled with a curling iron. For years I used a curling iron on my hair but when it started looking thinner on top, curling it would have it in sections that you could see through, especially if I sprayed it and got it wet. That's when I started just wearing mine straight so it would all fall together and none of that would show. In this day and age of weave though, ain't no shame at all in going bald. If that day ever comes with me, I'll be at the weave store immediately.
