Dead On It:Prince Best Rap Attempt

I love this fucking song to death.

The kick drums are so fucking dope.

The lyrics are out of this world. This song is damn sure better than "Face Down", "The Flow" and "Arrogance".

The Good Life (Big City Remix) is his best rap ever!

18 & Over comes in at second followed by the rap verse on Acknowledge Me.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Is it not ironic that it was an indictment of rap?

It's a great song, but it's not his best rap. It sounds like the fresh prince.

Brill track from a brill album.

I know you can't compare them, but I'll still have to mention P Control here. It's not only his best rap, because it's so on fucking point and the delivery is perfect, it's also one of his musically best songs, in my opinion. That synth line, the melody in the chorus, it's almost psychedelic!

What's wrong with that? It's a line from Holly Rock.

That was Sheila E.'s line in the song.

I've always loved this song, I don't understand why many don't..LOL. The lyrics are so funny.."I got a gold tooth, cost more than your house..I got a diamond ring on 4 fingers, each one a size of a mouse" Hahahaha..It's a funny testament to some arrogant lyrics found in some of the early rap. Prince is no beast at rapping but the production is what makes this killer! My favorite rap from him is by far "Days of Wild & P Control.

It's Button Therapy, Baby!

It's a GREAT song with great guitar work and production... BUT...

I wouldn't consider it a "real" rap attempt... it's Prince kind of making fun of the genre... but still putting time into the production.

That's why he starts it in the nerdy white voice with the Minnosota accent.

I wish there was also an intrumental version... the mix and noises are really good.

And it features the best pronounciation of "Dracula".

I like the rap at the end of "Acknowledge Me". And also "Prince and the Band" when he performs it in a tough way with the hard beat.
