the box was a cable tv channel. the idea being that you phoned or texted to request tracks and those with most requests got played. they played a few npg related videos and that video in question was a promo ad thing. i think mirror message was a title on a bootleg called silver (audio). i can't remember what dvd boot it's on, but i had a look at the gold files and it's not on that and the freedom set cover a later period. it might be on one of the royal visions discs

Well, sort of. "The Box" (which was called "Video Jukebox" before a name change) was a free music video channel. During each music video, titles of vids would scroll on the bottom of the screen. Each video had a 3 digit number attached to it.. You'd call their 900 number, type in the number for the vid you wanted to see, and it'd play in a matter of minutes. Aside from music videos (and they had a ton of rare ones no other station would play, including weird Prince stuff like "Letitgo" and "When 2 R In Love") they also featured little interview segments ("Box Talk") with bands/artists that you could also order. They'd change each month. The Prince boxtalk thing was a great (and goody) piece, featuring Mayte & The NPG. Each members head was featured in seperate television sets, Mayte talking about "upcoming experiences" and showing breif clips from the Beautiful Experience concert. The best part was the ending;

Michael B: So, if his name isn't Prince, what do we call him?

Mayte: If you're always with him, you don't need to call him...

NPG Members: Oooooooooh... *while making spooky faces, wiggling fingers*

Or something like that.. it's been awhile. I ordered that a few times. It used to be on Youtube, but I think the persons account was closed, since it's no longer there

i've been years since i've seen it, but yeah, might have had music in the background, but stuff released at least now

It featured breif clips of "The Jam," "Shhh," from a concert, and a snippet of the "TMBGITW" video. There might have been one or two other snippets, but it's been awhile

ah, that rings a bell. i think it was like a trailer for the welcome 2 the dawn tv special, with clips of tracks from the show and mayte talking and stuff
