i agree. considering that Prince would not take credit for so many songs that he wrote and gave to other artists, especially at the time, he very likely had more to do with the song than Stevie admits.

Pur-lease. Dude always got paid. Credits on records mean zilch, it's who's registered at ASCAP etcetera. AFAIK the only times he gave away credits is when he attributed some to his dad, to solve some of his financial issues. But there have been plenty of times where Prince took credit where he should at least have also credited someone else. Just ask Sandra St. Victor.
