Matt Thorne and Matthew De Abaitua on Prince, Domino Radio this Thursday

Here is the blurb, and link

http://dominorad.io/show/matt_thorne_matt_de_abaitua_on_prince

JUNE 09, 2011 Time: 8:30am Matt Thorne, a novelist and screenwriter currently writing a critical study of the pop star Prince, gets together with fellow writer and long-term Prince fan Matthew De Abaitua to discuss their favourite Prince records of the last thirty years. Playing a selection of their favourite Prince tracks—including classics such as ‘Pop Life’ and ‘If I Was Your Girlfriend’ as well as less well-known tracks including ‘Wasted Kisses’ and ‘Xenophobia’—the pair discuss Prince’s career, song-writing style, and their favourite live performances, debating whether the best way to appreciate the artist is through his famous hits or his hidden gems.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Yes, that is GMT. I recorded the show with Matt Thorne a few weeks back. If you ever wanted to hear two men argue about Wasted Kisses, then this is the show for you.

The tracks I chose for discussion are/were Irresistible Bitch, If I Was Your Girlfriend, Crystal Ball, Pop Life, Anna Stesia. Matt's are/were Colonized Mind, Sweet Baby, Xenophobia, When the Lights Go Down and Wasted Kisses.

I don't know if it will be streaming afterwards. Since it contains so much music, I guess it depends on what rights are being cleared or paid for. Domino are pleased by the session; I thought the spectacle of two blokes in their late thirties gassing on about Prince for an hour must have seemed rather strange to an office of young hipsters.
