I think most of us felt that way. He definitely sounded uninspired. Hell "Laydown" is more exciting live than the studio version. lol

I'd rather wait a few years and get something good than some more bull.

Why do they say uninspired when they mean "modest/7 out 10 but still good" material neutral

20Ten is still 10000 times better than anything of the 96-00 era...

The reception it got in Europe was bad enough.

evillol

It got some really good songs on it, but classics? Er, I guess that's just your opinion. shrug

The best ones: Future Soul Song, Lavaux, Sticky Like Glue (I don't even notice the rap anymore), Beginning Endlessly and Compassion.

It seems that Prince was getting old on 20Ten. Pure auto pilot. Only ´Laydown´ had some edge. I like some songs, but the album, as a whole, is ´OK´.

But some fans will love anything that has some Linn drums and those ´Do me baby´ formula ballads, it seems.

It wasn't even that, it's like some of the songs he just copy and pasted it. shrug I mean some songs I can take or leave it. I did like how Juke Joint-ish "Act of God" was. razz

Indeed.

"Beginning Endlessly", "Laydown", "Lavaux", "Future Soul Song" and "Sticky Like Glue" all JAM!!!! Classics in my book.

oh, I've seen it before: the "it's not 80s material, so it can't be classic" syndrome talk to the hand a classic is a classic...new, old, or ancient lol, but a classic nonetheless...

with some veteran artists (Stones, The Boss, Prince, etc) it seems that anything they released after the 80s can't be classic material... confused
