Who plays the bass solo on the extended version (starts around 4:10)? Prince or Marcus Miller? And can anyone identify Adam Holzmans synth overdubs on either the short or the long version of the song?

On the short version, I'd say you can hear Adam Holzman during the intro/outro.

I would love to see some more info about this song. If it´s Prince playing all instruments, and if it´s the only collab between him and Miles.

Thanks for the info, but, to my ears, the bass solo is pure Prince. He has an unique bass sound. I would like to ask Marcus what he really recorded.

As far as I know, the only musicians that can be heard on "Can I Play With U?" are:

- Prince

- Eric Leeds (sax)

- Miles Davis (trumpet)

- Adam Holzman (keyboards)

According to George Cole ("The Last Miles"), Steve Reid overdubbed some percussions on the track as well (where?):

What Marcus Miller did was to compose a new track ("Full Nelson") to act as a transition/bridge between the first seven tracks on "Tutu" and "Can I Play With U?". I can't hear anything (bass or other) by him on "Can I Play With U?".
