Yet on the other hand, for all his queeny selfishness, Prince is still Prince, and thus eternally fucking awesome.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

As for "good covers" - I'm going with Just My Imagination and I like Guitar Gently Weeps. (Were either of those officially released though?)

I kind of like the small buzz that he has created in the industry from his statement on cover songs. Whether or not change occurs as a result of it, at least it got people thinking and talking about the perceived pitfalls of the industry.

I guess Prince wants to put some jazz singers and bands, orchestras & opera singers, Broadway performers, and talk show house bands out of work. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I just watched the long monologue that Kevin Smith gave about his experience trying to work with Prince to make a documentary about TRC. It was both hilarious and sad. The most revealing part was when Smith talked about how Prince's assistant at the time said that Prince has been "living in Prince world" for a long time and just has no clue why certain things can't be done exactly how he wants them, like bringing a camel to Minnesota in the middle of the night. I'm sure there have been other threads on that topic, but if anyone needs further convincing that Prince has lost touch with reality, just listen to Smith's story. It reminded me of the beginning of the movie "The Last Emperor" where the boy emperor is fawned over by all the eunuchs.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

what is even more interesting is how many people on this website ignored Kevin, like he was making shit up

you can't make that shit up

but sometimes that is what makes people tune in to Prince, to see what crazy shit he is gonna say or do next

Prince - not black, not white........just COOL

& that's exactly what I know to be about my man Xtra P. We can love it or hate it but, that's him. He's been like that, one would think since he got his deal with WB and I'd say the 'Prince World' may have manifested during the Purple Rain Era when like Lisa or Wendy said they felt 'invincible' then. When he started riding in his own private vehicle 'away' from The Revolution, we can take from that, that he's changed and things changed.

Oh well, what can you do, I'm a FAM until the wheels fall off this ride ... LoL

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I don't think so. WMGGW was live, so unless you rip that off the video I doubt there's an mp3. Same with Just My Imagination (though that cover did fall from the sky and straight into my iTunes library lol)

time flies.
