What about asking your local radio station to mention it, you could send them an informed email, asking them nicely to announce your intention on air, you never know.

There has been talk about this in the past, if I am not mistaken it was at paisley park at a celebration I attended. I was informed that the maintenance and upkeep on these stars has to be paid for by the stars themselves. and since everyone knows him already he felt that it would not be a good idea to spend money on it.

Ok, well he's about one of the only people around here who has a 'line' to Prince, so if he says Prince doesn't want it, I'd take that as coming from the horse's mouth.

It is a nice thought and doesn't hurt to try and collect signatures, but there's no way P would pay the upkeep on something he doesn't even want.

What we are doing is kind of exploratory to see the response.

We know that Prince can be and is very particular with certain acknowledgements.

But this is just as much for us as it is for him.

We know that this might go nowhere but there is no harm in the gesture.

We are going with it and having fun with it (as should everyone). The time and effort is ours and is as harmless and as time consuming as the other forums on the org, twitter, facebook. Trust me there are worse petitions out there. Hahahahahaha

All in all this is meant to be fun and to show (even though it may not result in a star) our affection for everything Prince has done. Just like when we post our favorite lyrics or ask why Prince hasn't released his vaulted material or even rant about some of the strange-ness that comes from him and his camp.

So sign the petition or not, it's cool. We understand either way.

Yeah, I think people are just trying to say that Jseven is an unofficial mouthpiece for Prince (no joke; whether people dig him or don't), and he's telling you - from Prince - that he doesn't want it and if it's offered Prince will NOT accept it. So, if you still want to give to a charity, you should probably call it that - "Donate To Charity" - instead of a Walk of Fame petition, because a charity donation is all this is going to end up being.
