Yes they do, it depends on where you live. I have Time Warner cable, and the Africa channel included. If it's listed like in NYC, it should be just before the Travel channel.
What about Comcast? Check your listings if you have that. An orger who has Comcast said the Africa channel is on channel 182 in their area, and they live in Atlanta (in reply #37). [Edited 4/19/11 16:50pm]

It definitely must be a regional thing, because I just looked at my Time Warner cable channel line-up, and the African Channel is not on there (I live in Ohio). RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Oh, sorry. . I could have sworn someone posted that DrF's twitter said he would have it on his site early today (reply 55). So far, nothing. [Edited 4/19/11 16:46pm]

(Hope it's ok, to give the details..
Things I missed at the first showing/and other things mentioned in the previous recap of the first presentation:
Damaris Lewis -supermodel interviewing fans outside LA forum and inside before the show.
(Laughing at fans outside the LA forum trying to sing Priince songs, and yes some of them are dressed in their own fancy, Prince costumes..
One lady sang some lyrics to "Chocolate Box"... and her outfit...
One guy sang some lyrics to "Endorphine machine"
Some fans sang "Purple Rain"
(Most of the interviews are just quick snippets)
Paul Stanley of the Group "KISS" interviewed
The African-American model in the "Black Sweat and Musicology" video was interviewed
George being interviewed by Harriet Cole. George states he never knew Prince before. George states he felt like 1120/30/40 years old, when he met/interviewed Prince. States he thanks Prince for charging $25.00 for his shows and showing love to the Latino community. George quoted lyrics from "I Wanna Be Your Lover;" George and Harriet Cole, states Prince moves people in a spiritual way (now showing snippets of George Lopez interview/Prince performances) George says Prince is now the "King of Rock & Roll." George states Prince's aura and energy is still in his studio and things will never be the same.
Showing Charlotte, NC concert - Prince and band singing "Cool" - Prince in purple shirt/black jacket/pants - 3 backup singers on Piano singing along - he shouting to band members asking if they're cool. Now he calls out to "Elisa" and ask her to "help him"... dance to cool. Now they're all dancing. (3 singers and Prince). He called out to Elisa quite a few times during that performance. In total, both the "Cool" and "Let's Work" performances ran about 12-15 min of the 1/2 hour special..
*During the performance of "Cool", Prince danced his pacheekas off, he shook his pacheekas all over the stage, then stopped for a minute and rotated them slowly to the left... then to the right.... then just stood there for a minute and shook it.
Segueing into "Let's Work" and giving 92.7 a shoutout - (Prince takes off his jacket) Shelby and Prince dancing. Performance still going.
Shot of Twinz - They state Prince "choreographed" them, and that "He iis a one-man show" and states he's involved in every aspect of the performances.
Shelby interviewed - states Prince first saw her sing in Vegas, and liked her singing, and that's how she hooked up with him as one of his singers..
Morris Hayes interviewed - asked what he thought of the show he says "I liked it.". Also states they (band) "..put in extra time tonight...which is cool"
Boris Kojoe(sp) - interviewed - Boris states for him "Prince represented blackness he could identify with growing up the white world he grew up in."
Harriette Cole states - "Prince is a man of grace, dignity and humility."
*Maya Rudolph - Says she's a mother first, and then a Prince fan. (parapharasing) She expresses that Prince is one of the greatest musicians alive.
Shots of fans dancing on stage with Prince, and comments from many fans about the show or Prince.
Show over.
Raspberry beret playing as credit rolls.

I just searched all my channels on Time Warner in San Diego and it's not here either
I'm so surprised they're not blowing up the advertising here just a few hours away! If someone else in San Diego can find it please let me know! give her the eyes ![]()

Hey 2elijah! It was great of you to post this. I watched it tonight. We have the Africa Channel on Comcast in Chicago. One thing that is great about this is that folks are realizing that there is an Africa Channel.
You did a great play by play. Although, I think you missed Maya Rudolph talking about how Prince is the greatest alive and how creative he is.
Oh, I noticed in the closing credits that Prince and Harriet Cole were the executive producers. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Just saw this. Not sure if this was Prince's intention, but I'm definitely turned onto this channel now. They have a lot of good programming. Also, I really liked that special. I don't know what some folks on here were talking about saying it was a snooze fest. It made me want to hop on a plane to L.A.! Looks like the 21 Nite Stand is going to be a blast. My favorite part of the special was when the big-boned gal was trying to spank Prince on stage. He was going for it too. Hilarious.

That was the point of Prince doing this.

I realize that fans want to see anything they can on Prince, and that's cool, but having watched this I have to say that it's not that great.
Guess that makes me a "hater."
Good on the Africa channel though.

The best part of the show is when they show him and the band playing Cool and Let's Work, which should have been on the Time's album. The rest of the show is just fluff and orchestrated worship. Yeah, I like Prince, too, but I don't really want to watch 15 minutes of people praising him. Humility is not one of Prince's virtues. But it will be interesting to see what he does with the rest of his career.
Come back to NYC like you promised. NeoSoul.com

Yes, I've been watching this channel for the pass 2 years. They've shown African models on the runway, participating in fashion shows all over Africa and Europe. They have a program that focuses on travel/customs of various ethnic groups throughout Africa. I have one sister who watches African movies (DVDs), and the other has been hooked on their "Generations" soap opera. There's another movie, but I believe it's series called "Ella" about the apartheid system that took place in South Africa and the devastation it caused on families/neighbors, while breaking them apart it. I had no idea Africa has their own Oscar award show, until I caught a program talking about it. They also have a program dedicated to Black filmmakers and non-Black filmmakers who make movies surrounding various sectors of African life/culture/history/socio-political issues. They have a show called "Red Kiva" featuring African musicians/artists from all over Africa, as welll as African musicians/artists who are citizens in other countries, including the U.S.
For instance, I posted about Cameroon born artist "Andy Allo" who now lives in Los Angeles, sometime ago in the non-prince music forum;she was featured on the "Red Kiva" program sometime ago, that's how I found out about her.
Andy Allo "
Andy Allo - "Know You At All"
There's also Ethiopian born "Wayna" - her sound reminds me of a mixture of Eryka Badu and Billie Holiday
Wayna - "Mr. Duracell"

^ I am with you Dig. Gardener, this is actually quite un-cool, not that great.
All the microphone-HYPE..... is so annoying.
And the live clip is far from great.
Sigh, I feel old. Like "everything was so good back THEN".... and "not anymore".....
I really wish it wasn't so.. damn. [Edited 4/20/11 7:12am] Prince 4Ever. ![]()
