Would you choose $20,000, or 5 never-before-heard Purple Rain-era songs?...

Someone gives you the choice between accepting $20K or a CD with 5 Purple Rain-era songs from the vault. The songs are described as "better than anything on the album and the B-sides and were never released because they were too personal to P."

The catch is you can never copy the tracks or ever distribute them.

Just a fun little hypothetical.

What a slightly bizarre question.

To turn down 20,000 I would require a lot more than 5 songs on a cd.

Also, to not be able to share them with (at least) people who have shared their material with me would be impossible I think.

I'd take the 20k.

I wouldn't trust P with the goods. It would probably be 5 instrumentals.

You didn't say you couldn't invite people to your house and play them, and charge them for the privilege.

So I'd take the songs, charge $20 a ticket, and invite the whole damn .org lol

That way you'd have the songs and you'd make money, and you wouldn't have lost any money because you didn't pay your own money for the songs in the first place.... you only turned down money. LOL

But then you would spend your life with rabid Prince fans beating down your door demanding that you copy them the songs or at least let you hear them one more time!
Not having that! No sir! Give me the 20k!

I'd take the money and try to purchase with it far more than 5 uncirculating tracks.

How would you go about doing that? Maybe drop by Pepe Willies and see what he has hidden in the basement? lol

This is a hard questions... I'd probably take the money and use it to go to LA for the 21night stand. Or see if I can then give it back to Prince for a private show to play an all ballads show for me. If P thought they were too private before I'd feel kinda wrong for listening to them now.

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

How you would answer this question could depend as much on how wealthy you are as it does on how much you value unreleased Prince music. A more interesting question might be whether you would choose the 5 never-before-heard Purple Rain-era songs over the opportunity to have Prince come over to your house and play 5 selections from 20Ten to you and your friends.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.
