Best use of Prince beats in Rap/HipHop songs

Hey ya'll,

considering his great influence, Prince seems to be very little sampled in Rap or HipHop. Why is this? Has he refused his music to be used? Of course you can hear Prince-vibes in many songs, but actual samples?

What do you think? And what is the best use of a Prince sample in your opinion?

Sorry but you're wrong.

Here is an incomplete lis...ng sampled. There's a few mistakes and more than a few omissions, but it's largely accurate. My favorites are Tupac's original version of "Thugz Get Lonely Too" which sampled the SOTT movie version of "If I Was Your Girlfriend", and "Is It Cool To Fuck" which sampled "Get It Up."

Tupac used a lot of Prince samples now that I think about it. My favorite is probably "What's your phone #" which sampled "777-9311". And doesn't "To Live and Die in L.A." sample "Do Me Baby"?

This is the first "Purple" remix edition of Jay-Z's "Black Album", quietly released back in '04. Still to this day, it's the best use of Prince's music I've ever heard as Hip-Hop samples.

Yeah, "What'z Ya Phone #" is a classic. That was produced by my good friend, the late Johnny "J". I grilled him about him and Pac's shared love of Prince when I interviewed him at his studio back in 2006. lol

"2 Live & Die In LA" actually isn't a sample, it's a replayed interpolation by QD3. But not of the original Prince song, it was based on Meli'sa Morgan's cover version.

Also, "Heartz Of Men" has a sample from "Darling Nikki".

Is there anything else like this?
