What Happened to "Prince: The Studio Sessions"

I remember reading quotes from the book online...now it just up and disappeared never to be heard from again since 2008.

Anybody have any insight?

The tidbits might have been too juicy and Prince might have did a nice payoff to keep things hush-hush.

I could understand that if it was a gossip filled toilet roll.

But it's not that kind of book.

The tidbits you've been reading are from my unfinished book (PRINCE: The Studio Sessions) and not Jake Brown's book PRINCE IN THE STUDIO. Two different books. His goes on sale soon, mine is still in the early stages.

one last note about Jake Brown, the author of the other book about Prince coming out soon (Prince: in the studio). There are those on other links who are saying he is jumping on the Prince bandwagon to make money, and I want to clear that up. He has actually done some good research on this book (including many interviews) and he has written similar books about other artists in the past including Heart, Rick Rubin, AC/DC, Jane's Addiction, Tori Amos, etc. If you want to see more of what he does, check out his page on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Jake-Brown/e/B0034Q3LYO/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1302566828&sr=8-1)
I am looking forward to reading his book and I don't think it is going to cancel my plans to make a more detailed book. In honesty, I was hoping that it would because these types of books are a mofo to create and they don't get a lot of press/sales. I just really want to read a book like the one I want to create and I was hoping that his would satisfy that. It probably won't but I wish him well and I look forward to reading it.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Two books with the same name, that is a lil confusing, i think since his is being released 1st, you should consider a new name, but i would like to check the book he wrote on Janes Addiction, out, thanx 4 the info

They are different but similar names. I agree, it could be confusing. Thanx for the interest.

Freekclaassen

thanks for the clearup, but my question is: on bol.com (the biggest dutch webstore) it says that Prince in the studio 1975-1995 by Jake Brown was released in sept 09, and there's another cover (http://www.bol.com/nl/p/e...index.html)

is this the same version as the one being released in april 2011

although the last one has 200 pages?

will do for sure. The shame of it is - it should already be here but apparently it had an accident in transit and was badly damaged and that was an advanced copy so just waiting for the replacement copy to arrive. In the meantime today just got my copy of Jason Darpe's Chaos, Disorder and Revolution - only read a little but looks rather good.

I looked this up on Amazon (UK) and it said that the only copy they had was "used" at £9. confused

Seems strange for a book that is just out.

Please DO write your more detailed book!

Just wanted to let everyone know that you can buy and read the Kindle edition of Jake's book right now. I ordered the new printed book a month ago and it still hasn't shipped - just don't know if I want to buy it twice. I read the free sample and the beginning is just a re-hash of early history, with several wrong facts that I noticed right away. The author says Prince is his biggest musical influence though, and hopefully the rest of the book with the new interviews will be much better than the beginning.
