Prince - & Radiohead... "Creep" and now "Lotus Flower"

As you know:

Prince did a live version of "Creep" at Coachella Festival 2008,

Now Radiohead has a new song out called "Lotus Flower". eek

Is this just...... coincidence?

btw. I really liked Prince's version of "Creep",

it was a huge surprise to hear him play this classic rock song.

A he did this song good...... even tho the Radiohead fans hated him for it, on Youtube before it was removed by you know who....

music

I don't think it has anything to do with the whole Creep thing.

And, Lotus Flower is an amazing song.

FYI.

I took it as mere coincidence, with the amount of songs Prince has written,

it's inevitable that the same song/album title will crop up from time to time...

Absolutely brilliant album by Radiohead by the way, check out the video to Lotus Flower,

there's a funny version going viral of Thom Yorke dancing to All The Single Ladies by Beyonce,

well worth a watch!

I'm sure it's a coincidence. In fact, I'd bet that not a single member of Radiohead is aware of the existence of a Prince album by that title.

It's not the same at all.

Prince spelled Lotus Flower with a 3.

Completely unrelated.

Duh.

given that way radiohead work on songs for years and keep going back to old drafts etc

chances are that their song was around since well before prince released the album.

It could be related to the artist Flying Lotus. Thom Yorke worked with him on his amazing "Cosmogramma" album. And the new Radiohead album has some stylistic similarities to "Cosmogramma".

It's an amazing record; I just picked up the vinyl recently on advice from a friend, and it's one of those albums you really have to delve into.

To add to this - one of the tracks that didn;t make it onto the new Radiohead album was called "The Daily Mail". This was the newspaper that gave away Planet Earth in 2007. Also the deluxe version of the new Radiohead album is called a "newspaper album".

Yeah that!! It's inspired by Flying Lotus, it even has a similar sound to his music.

Illuminations

The only reason Prince spelled Lotus Flow3r with the 3 was so that when he brought up his lotusflow3r.com site it would not be confused with the lotusflower.com site.... and another law suit!! cool
