Prince's Hair

Prince looks good with his short hair and goatee and I like it better than his looks with long hair.

With his current hair he looks more masculine and his pretty shaped face and lips also pop out because of short hair.

He also looked very cute with his Afro when he was young, according to photos, but unfortunately he got rid of his Afro like most of people with such hair.

I watched Chis Rock movie "Good Hair" last night and I had no idea how difficult is to maintain black people's hair and I never knew that black African American people don't let you to touch their hair after is relaxed and pretty.

What about Prince, does he let people or his GF to touch his hair?

Also there was funny episode in this movie about Prince: lol

I don't think you can find one picture with someone touching Prince's hair, but if anyone has one I'm dying to see it!! eek

Black people's hair, just like any others can be difficult to maintain in a style that's not natural for them. The straight hair that white people (sometimes) have is difficult to maintain in cornrows because it's not for their hair, just like all black people are not made to have straight hair.

And Prince should ease up on all that relaxer-but it DOES make his hair all pretty.

No, we as African-American come in a variety of shades from damn-near as pale as this box to damn-near black as coal. Like our skin-tones, our "grade" of hair varies equally from one to the next. All these things make us uniquely beautiful. The most interesting fact about both of the above mentioned is when it happens amongst siblings. I'm sure this doesn't happen exclusively within our race.

Thank you for your response. And yes, I agree, black, spanish and mixed women are beautiful, no matter what they use. I'm jealous of their dark skin. That's why I tan in summer.

You're welcome. I just thought that I would respond because how some of the other post seemed "defensive". Maybe, it's just me, but comments about hair isn't something to be sensitive about.

Some defensiveness is likely to come when black/African-Americans' actions are presented as being exclusive to us.

So little, I'd assert, truly is.

Well, I've learned that there is a way to handle generalizations. And that's not to generalize that everyone who comments or questions issues of another race is solely coming from a place of bigotry.

That's why my response was as it is. A person won't know unless they ask and comments/questions should addressed in a way that doesn't turn off or turn away. Assumption, unfortunately, is one of the things that humans do best. Therefore, no one is immune.

>>>>>>This is mostly an "inside joke" amongst African American people - because of the expense of visiting the hair dresser to keep your hair looking fresh and well-coiffed.

In the movie Rock also touches on other races and the hair "maintenance" needs of those groups. Any coloring, style-cut, perm or the like requires some form of maintenance.

I love mostly all of Prince's hairstyles with the exception of about 2. I'd love to rub my hands through his hair when its long...

Its a tie btw my 2 fave Prince hairstyles..Come/GE era probably wins by a hair over GB! Absolutely gorgeous in both eras, just perfect! 3rd, I'd choose either Musicology or PR era.

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I really liked the way he had his long hair, during the 1990 concert in Paris I had a close look to it and the look suited him wildly well

I also like his short curly hair, almost every style suits him well actually yes

maybe in hollywood people are finiky about ppl touching their weave, but where i come from its not that big of a deal. maybe thats cuz celebs spend so much $$$ on thei hair. as a whole i think it varies from person to person.

Everywhere, in every race: animal or human, the hair is an essential appeal in order to seduce..

It's obvious for an artist to put forward the hair, the body..all these are part of a whole in order to communicate
