I don't think most men do that. I think it depends on geographical locations. Most urban man will be dressed better, more varying styles. Suburban men mostly dress similar to one another. Rural men tend to be really simple and basic.

and they all still scratch their balls.

...and meterosexual men probably scratch their balls a lot more, they're shaved!

He is an old school pimp !!!!! Old school pimps were the orignal metrosexuals.

lol that's why I don't believe in that term cause prior to that term you look at different time periods and ethnic groups and you would have to lump most men into those catagories.

African-American men are very stylish and making sure they step out with everything in place.

Even Hip Hop Culture is very much into their looks style crisp hair cuts & facial trimming bling style etc etc

"Guido" culture

Italian-American & most Puerto Rican & Dominican men are that way too

And all these mentioned above are considered very 'masculine' groups of men

Co-Sign. Some of us know what is going on in the real world. In addtion, no one would get away with calling any of guys from those ethnic groups fancy lesbians without getting their lights punched out.

Then you would see just how metrosexual those guys are

Lotta confusion here about what constitutes a metrosexual... Hint: makeup, lace peekaboo slacks, and high heels aren't it.

I never said anything about every black man having a hidden Black Panther. What is absurd is that you really do not believe that some of ethnic metrosexuals would punch out your lights if you came at them with the fancy lesbian bullshit. This is real and I am sorry that I choose to live in the real world and not some fantasy land where everyone is practicing polictical correctness and walking around holding hands and singing.

I really believe that Prince is the one who has launched this Metrosexual tendency, very early...

Ppl were obviously not used to a man willing to take care of himself, to give himself a treat, to be aware and proud of his feminine side.. This kind of man couldn't be someone else than be considered a "gay"..

In the middle of the 8o's ( 8 ease..ha ha wink, with the launch of masculin cosmetics, the idea made it's way little by little 'til it reached the summit in the end of 90's..

Whereas through all the years, Prince has always been loyal to this style, His Style

In one word to summarize: yes

He is definetely a Metrosexual.

yep, metrosexualism definitely reached mainstream acceptance in the mid-80s, with people/bands like Prince, A-ha, Duran Duran, etc. Prince was definitely the godfather of metrosexualism...

in the 40s, a man using makeup would have been called a "perv", and probably killed...

in the 50s, he would have been called a "fag*ot", and rejected by his community...

in the 60s, a weirdo or "gay hippie"...

in the 70s, a sad jerk who just wanted to be like Bowie or Jagger...

in the 80s, it was finally cool. Purple Rain and Under the Cherry Moon are classic metrosexual films...

Again you're confusing androgyny with metrosexual.

The term 'metrosexual' wasn't even invented in the 80's.

Actually it was probably coined about 5 years ago, and pretty much dropped from people's vocabulary with the cancellation of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.' So this thread is about 4 to 5 years late.

My wife called me a metrosexual and I damned near lost it!

"What?!" I said. "I am not a metrosexual!"

Her reply? "Honey, you're a step or two away from full fledged homo!"

Just because I exfoliate and moisturize??

Just because I like to take bubble baths in my Roman style tub?

Just because I walk into her nail salon and the girls argue over who's gonna give me my manicure?

Just because I smell better than she does and call my cologne perfume (a la Prince and Morris)?

Just because I have the same style of prescription eyeglasses in silver, black, and red...and match them according to my outfit?

Just because I watch Glee and Gossip Girl?

Well...I guess I am a metro.

FUCK THAT!!! Im a man, baby!!!

I just like to look, feel, and smell good.

Suddenly this is a crime?

Ummmm...wrong. Menswear during the Victorian period was not frilly. The clothing Prince wore during the Purple Rain era was modeled after the Regency Period (1780 - 1830) or even earlier.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

You have no idea what metrosexual means, lol. It has nothing to do with being feminine and it has nothing to do with being a "sad" "gay" "jerk".

And you have showed us that you CAN'T read

1: I was SPECIFICALLY talking about MAKEUP. If you say that metrosexuals don't use it (at least, sporadically, or other similar-related products) , you're wrong again, and you're the one that have no idea what metrosexual means, LOL

2. I HAVEN'T said that being a metrosexual means that you're gay or a sad jerk, I've said that (random) people USUALLY use those insults to ridicule metrosexuals, speacially decades ago. So, you're wrong part. II

As I've said, read my post again, you need it wink
