I don't think I would let him if I had my own sound. If I never was singer I'd let him, though. He's too much of an influence. I never heard of milk and honey but Elixer sucked. Just M.O

He's an Ok producer but should stick to producing his own music.

Oh hell no! Prince is a greedy mofo. He keeps all the good music for himself. Example: Compare Lotusflow3r/MPLSound to Elixer.

Hell yeah I would let Prince produce some stuff for me, but not exclusively.

Well, I'm not young but I am a musician who's often thought about the remote possibility of working with Prince. When I was younger I would have jumped at it, even now, it would be better than nothing I guess but I would have realistic expectations. Truth is, I don't think he does much work with males anymore period, and the women he chooses are usually talentless bimbos. The days of The Time soured him on putting together anything good for other people, his competitive nature wouldn't allow him to do anything really good for anyone else anymore. I've heard of him sabotaging some of his artists for fear of upstaging him.

NOPE, and especially since i'm male, and he has already said he doesnt like the male voice. I'd be glad if he'd write a song for my album, but him as my producer? If i was a musician, no way.

That's the truth. But I think Prince's idea of producing is pulling out an outtake and slapping his "new discovery's" vocals on it. I don't see Prince having much patience with musicians he isn't 100% comfortable with. For example, when he did "so far so good" with no doubt, the rest of the band watched as Gwen did vocals over the finished track. I can't see him telling the bass player, "OK do it again" 50 times to get it like he would play it. He'd just take the bass and play it himself. Never having been invited to a Prince recording session, I can't say for sure, but having heard tons of Prince-produced tunes, that's how I think it goes down.

Fine Young Cannibals had the best of both worlds. They got David Z to produce their record, so they got the Prince-produced sound without the BS of being labeled a protoge or something like that. No "their Prince-produced album," or anything like that.

"101", the Martika songs, Sheila E songs: Glamourous Life, Love Bizarre...

but most of the time... his protege songs don't really hit with me...
