Pheremone - it's sick

I'm like in love with this track! I can't put my finger on it, but that song is like crazy good.

It has this energy, surge, a force that just hits some nerve in me that makes it addictive

- am I the only one feeling like this?

It is a sick track. However, no one in this thread has spelled it correctly yet.

I think it's his dirtiest song ever. nod

I found it so addictive that I did a funny cover version back in 1994! I tried to reverse engineer all it's parts and used a completely detuned guitar, a casio keyboard, and a real drummer.

It never really stood out for me. I guess I always thought it made sense. Maybe more in the sense that a pet is so domesticated and so trusting.

prince is the lyric master! i feel so disappointed that this is all he could come up with.

that line has a funny way of stopping the juice lol the suggestion that he might feel like a jack russell/moggy/goldfish/hamster is so wrong

biggrin

I just think of it as pets being domesticated and relying totally on their owners.

Also, pets are so trusting and their love is unconditional. That makes the line make sense to me.

the expression "pet" for a person is not new... "as in be a pet, fetch me some water".

He's been using "bird" "telly" "bloody fool"...

but "pet" and the exact quote I just made was in the movie "Creepshow", with an American aristocratic woman on the family estate asking her nephew to get her some water...

but it doesn't make sense, that expression isn't used in that context shrug

why does he use that word when so much else rhymes with wet?.. helpless as a pet isn't conducive to the mood of this song
