You've brought up the funk album RUMOUR more than once. As for another, the idea that an expanded version of 20TEN would be released was just that back in July, no? It may seem more likely now, but it couldn't be called anything but rumour back when folks here first started to discuss it.

But there's strong EVIDENCE to support 20TEN Deluxe, just like there was strong EVIDENCE to support the album that contained "Prince & The Band" and "Turn Me Loose". There was EVIDENCE in 1980 that Prince was going to release "The Rebels". There was EVIDENCE that Prince was going to release that 7CD boxset of samples for producers and DJ's.

You just don't get it, huh? You can quote your sources and claim there's evidence all you like, but if you can't produce that evidence, then it's nothing more than rumour and conjecture.

But he may well pull it at the last minute and I've never claimed otherwise, and if fans who view the glass as half empty want to use his past actions as justification that 20TEN Deluxe won't see the light of day, so be it. I prefer to see the glass half full, especially as I've said a million times now, I've spoken to someone who worked on the album numerous times and I've based my posts on what he's told me.

AGREED!! I prefer a completely different CD rather than that garbage. That type of music is definately not what I like from Prince. It sounded like very low grade throw away material compiled together and called an album. It was worse than most of the bootleg material out there and there are some BAD demos out there but I prefer those anyday to this!! I do prefer other outlets wether through his own website where we pay to download each album, Itunes or a store. I hate this crappy distribution outlets he has been doing. PLEASE scrap this or bootleg it out and move on to the next CD!!!

Just to be clear, the original poster was an employee of WB / Rhino. There is no signed contract and whilst it's not right, it's always been well known that Prince has a habit of pulling out of deals when they're leaked before the critical moment of pen being put to paper.

Maybe my edit did come across harsh on huggy but I wanted to get the point across that they really were being a bit naive by posting that so early.

It's possible that Rhino would put out a hits reissue, but if they had acquired distribution to 20Ten, they would've announced it on their website by now. They'd be printing it up right now.

It's possible in the future for Prince to use Rhino to reissue the remastered versions, all that would mean is WB is no longer involved, but as far as convenience goes, is a pretty invisible transition, because people would still get their music from the same place. Rhino's not owned by WEA.
