Thinking back on what I was doing before I was a enthusiast of P's music I was just getting disenfranchised with what was going on with Hip Hop. I was ready to give it up. 2pac was murdered then Biggie Smalls who I thought was 'The King of New York' and would go on to do big things like his name sake.

If it wasn't for a very attractive co-worker of mine, which I had no chance of ever dating or seeing outside work (her words) was listening to The Gold Experience's 'P* Control' that song caught my attention and Jam of The Year Miami was in full effect at the time. Saw my first prince concert and it was 'on' ever since ...

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I'm gonna be honest. Having heard and used Prince songs in the background for...well, you get the idea, but if it wasn't for Prince's music, there's a good chance that all of that wouldn't have been half as amazing as what it was. And I mean THE Prince ballads -- Scandalous, Beautiful One's, Insatiable...you know, the usuals.

But there's more to it, though. Now that I've admitted that and embarrassed myself, it's time I give another one to hopefully redeem myself. If it wasn't for Prince's music, I never would've picked up writing songs/music. And now I LOVE writing songs and music. And it's mostly due to Prince. He taught me all kinds of different things -- not to let anybody else control my music, not to let anybody come in and tell me how to do it, and, more importantly, to do it my way and only my way, because it's not your music or songs if you do it any other way.

Prince means a lot to me and really plays a lot of roles in my life. And I don't care what anybody says or thinks about it.

"If it wasn't for Prince's Music"....

I would have busted a WHOLE LOTTA people in the f'ing face. I have a horrible temper which when stuffed in makes me extremely depressed and takes a toll on me physically.

I actually just asked a fellow friend and orger does he hear Prince everyday? I'm not sure about you guys but I hear his music every single day without me selecting it on any personal audio device. To me it's magic it was meant to be...when a random song comes on in some random ass place...I get this big Kool Aid grin on my face, cuz usually 9 x's out of 10 I'm stressing about something stupid or something totally out of my control.

The music REALLY calms me like therapy and ONLY Prince's music.

You guys just don't know how GEEKED up I'm am that he's about to come to NY/NJ...my boss is already anticpating the call out on Saturday...he text me and said could I at least come in after I have confirmed my tix! lol

SEE !!!

That's exactly what I'm sayin' DAV123, sometimes when I'm NOT looking to read or hear P's music some kind of reference pops up: 319, 3121, Purple Rain, When Doves Cry (radio music or something). Or someone who knows me but, doesn't LIKE Prince will send me some Prince N.E.W.S. and I just sit back and smile ... You and I are 'here' ... I wouldn't have bought my Grassi Milano silver flute or taken the time to learn the complicated chords on the piano. The Ebm in "Money don't Matter" in D&P piano book got me started in 1996.
