The Sun is more reliable than likesof daily star/ news of the world but is on par with the the mirror...it's a tabloid, but that doesnt mean i'm not getting my arse in my hand about not having registered with the festival yet

Twat!I nearly applied for tickets but u couldn't get a day pass and u thought te likelihood of P playing was slim.I hope it does and he gets shown on the beeb but also annoyed as loads of real P fans are gonna miss out cos tickets are all sold out and u can't buy of peeps cos they're linked to individuals.bugger, bollocks and balls. This is superb news!! I watch Glasto every year on TV and each year I say we should really go before we get too old. Short of Madonna headlining this is as good a line up as I'm likely to see...big Coldplay fan to, and U2 I like (well, their early stuff anyway).
Fortunately have a friend at work who goes every year so she's gonna secure us some tickets!!
Glasto here we come!!! Are any other Orgers going? I think we should arrange an Org Glasto meet up...last one I did was the final night of the O2 stint, so its long overdue. Time to break out the purple glowsticks again!! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Can't remember the name of it, but didn't Prince play one of the big music festivals in Holland this or last summer?
And he's done Coachella so I can't see any reason why he'd turn Glasto down.
...I'm keeping my fingers crossed! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

From the John Blackwell Project FB page:
John Blackwell Project [posted] "Prince to headline Glastonbury!!! So, you gonna go . . . ?"
UPDATE: John himself has now posted to the JBP page advising that this is not true - presumably either a member of his team (or worse, a hacker) jumped the gun
edited again because it's false info, sorry folks... [Edited 10/23/10 3:08am] Lake Minnetonka Music: https://lakeminnetonka.bandcamp.com/

Spinner article on the 20... anything.
Why do people think Prince would never play there, though? He played Coachella. Pay him in advance, he shows.

Prince playing Glastonbury is NOT true, don't buy tickets thinking that he will appear because he won't. Business Manager to Cat Glover.

Wether he's appearing or not, ITS SOLD OUT! Anyway, its always best to watch it on the telly. and it wont be barred cos every major performance is shown on the Beeb. If its true, just wish Prince's inclusion was known from the start, atleast then we cud hav witnessed a massive purple crowd. Oh well, I'm sure it'll b slammin.

I was wondering when this non-story would come around again. An exciteable Brit posts a rumor every year. I have no idea why it keeps happening.
Having said all that, the above poster's comment is quite true.

Although, I would add that a few people in Dublin might disagree with you

When BBC coverage is good (i.e. coverage throught the whole day for 3 days, which sadly they haven't had for the last couple of years) you can have a brilliant festival weekend at home. Not the same as being there of course, but there are some advantages - no queueing for beer or toilets, no wellies, no rain, no grubby sleeping bags and tents, no trudging through mud to end up missing half of what you were trudging through mud to see (just press the red button instead).
One of these years when we're feeling rich my wife and I are going to go for the one of the expensive 'luxury' trailer/mobile home things, and do glastonbury in style (well, maybe not style, but avoiding the whole camping, soggy sleeping bags, not very waterproof 'waterproof' tents, stolen belongings, no dry toilet paper, etc. side of things).
From memory, when Fat Boy Slim headlined, didn't he refuse to play unless they agreed not to broadcast his set? I seem to remember him saying something about his shows being an experience for live audiences only, or some such horseshit. I think they played one, possibly two tracks from his set, and that was it. I think he's the only headline act (in fact probably the only act in the entire history of Glastonbury) to have refused to allow his set be broadcast.
Let's hope Prince (if he plays there either next year or any other year) doesn't get the same idea. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.
