whatever happened to Prince and his dads' band?

so in august of last year dr. funkenberry put in his website

2 WHOMEVER IT MAY CONCERN…ELIGIBLE BACHELORS IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA WILL HAVE 2 MOVE 2 MINNESOTA IF THEY HAVE THEIR EYE ON MISS VALENTE…SHE HAS MOVED BACK 2 THE PLACE OF HER BIRTH 4 GOOD. HER FAMILY IS OVERJOYED AND PLANNING A BIG HOMECOMING PARTY 4 THE END OF AUGUST.ENTERTAINMENT WILL B PROVIDED BY THE PRINCE ROGERS TRIO. THIS WASN’T HER 1ST CHOICE BUT IT WAS ALL SHE COULD AFFORD IN THESE TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES.

and of course the party didn't happen til like october of last yr. so i was just wondering if the Prince Rogers Trio that was suppose to be THE Prince Rogers Trio band of his dad that were suppose to be performing at the party and how come they DIDN'T perform at the party?

There's a very obvious reason why "THE Prince Rogers Trio band of his dad that were suppose to be performing at the party", didn't perform at the party.

I swear I saw Natalie Cole perform with her dad in the early 90s even though ol' Nat died in the 60s. razz

But seriously, what was the deal with that Prince Rogers Trio quip on Funkenberry? Was this some kind of inside joke or something? I don't remember any explanation as to why that particular item was announced.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Time is a trick, but only if there's the right kind of lightning around.

I guess so. The impression I got was that this was something that the site simply posted because they were asked to, regardless of it making any sense to anyone, perhaps, but the author.

lol

To be honest, I wouldn't have put it past Jr to prop his dad's corpse up against a wall and move his lips with some fishing line and a pool cue.

That's kinda what I figured. The Dr. was probably left in the dark as much as we were. Thanks.
