When I listen to Prince's past work/albums they always take me back

to what was going on at that time in my life.

For example, Diamonds & Pearls came out when I hooked up with my first wife, The symbol album was out after our divorce. (yeah short marriage)

My first child (daughter) was born when TMBITW was a hit, and when I went thru a spiritual change --Emancipation-- was on the verge of release.

Seems like his music helps me to remember past memories/life changes even as well....There have been times when Im trying to remember when I worked at a past job , and I just think okay what Prince album was out at that time, then BAM! I know what year it was that I held that past job. lol His music helps my memory,.....Anyone else think of P's music as the soundtrack to their life?

I've been an admirer of P's art since 1996 and have been following his career since ... P's lyrics sometimes fit my life to a 'T'.

I can remember what I was doing in my life when a particular Prince song was out. But then again, I can remember what I was doing when any song by any artist was out whether it was a song I liked or not.

Songs are memory time capsules dontcha know! I only got into Prince 2 years ago, but many songs remind me of certain days or nights out. Off the top of my head, I used to listen to crystal ball a lot last winter, so songs like crystal ball, crucial & last heart remind me of walking through my neighbourhood snow. & I used to listen to "Parade" a lot in that summer, so all those songs remind me of it, 2009 was a great year

a 1million% yes!. Lost my cherry listening to when doves cry on cassette!, hell virtually every CD he has released takes me to memory of the day I bought it and what was going on in my life.

I followed lots of music but pretty much from 1984 - 1996, Prince was always there.

Yes!! Everytime I put on a Prince song around family, it takes us into a conversation about what we were doing at that time when it came out. And also funny stories of me mostly or someone else singing that song. I used to sing the hell out of Purple Rain, Kiss, and I Wanna Be Your Lover when I was like 4-5yrs old!! I can still remember what my mom and I were doing when we first hear TMBGITW!! That seems like son long ago! I remember certain Prince interviews too... Prince's music has really shaped my life, along with a couple other artists, it defines me and really touches me. Prince is awesome for blessing the world with his music for so many years!!!

Lovesexy- Saw the tour in Chicago, daughter born

Graffiti Bridge- working in salon... Weave dealer lol, started managing rap groups, started label

D&P- Moved to MLPS
