Prince music for a shop

Hello People!!

I want to make a really good Prince mix CD for the shop I work in as I am aloud to choose the music and that my Boss likes Prince. So what you think would be a good tracklist. (I can't have anything with swearing or rudeness though such songs as Head, Jack you off)

Thanks People!!

it really depends on which records you have to work with! if we were to just list off the "clean" prince tracks that'd be pointless.

so whatchu got? i've noticed that non/casual fans really like "cinnamon girl" and "beautiful, loved, and blessed".

I have mainly all the Prince studio albums from 1978 to 2010

Oh well then I'd grab basically anything on "The Hits" that you feel is acceptable (some songs like "Gett Off" may not be).

Here is a fun playlist that I shared with friends on Facebook, nothing too rare or racy:

Paradigm - George Clinton & Prince (howlatedouhave2b2babsent)
No More Candy 4 U (Mplsound)
Kiss (Parade)
Mr. Pretty Man - Prince & Maceo Parker (Rave Until The Joy Fantastic)
Housequake (Sign O The Times)
DMSR (1999)
Black Sweat (3121)
Turn Me Loose (Unreleased)
Life O The Party (Musicology)
When Doves Cry (Purple Rain)
When You Were Mine (Dirty Mind)
Greatest Romance Ever Sold Remix - Prince & Eve (Single)
Blue Light (Love Sign Album)
Beautiful Loved & Blessed (3121)
Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful (Lotusflow3r)
Nothing Compares 2 U (Ultimate Prince)
Cream (Diamonds & Pearls)
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (Ultimate Prince)
Tambourine (Around The World In A Day)
Ol Skool Company (Mplsound)
My Medallion (The Work)
Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Rave Until The Joy Fantastic)
Love U, But Don't Trust U Anymore (Rave Until The Joy Fantastic)
Dreamer (Lotusflow3r)
Everyday is a Winding Road (Rave Until The Joy Fantastic)
Billy Jack Bitch (Gold Experience)
Illusion Coma Pimp Circumstance (Musicology)
Le Grind (Black Album)
Adore (Sign O The Times)
When 2 R In Love (Black Album)
Erotic City (The B-Sides)
Fury (3121)
Pop Life UK (Single)
Feel U Up Extended (Single)
The Morning Papers (Symbol Album)
Money Don't Matter 2 Night (Diamonds & Pearls)
The Question Of U (Graffiti Bridge)
Letitgo (Come)
U Make My Sun Shine (Chocolate Invasion)
The Work, Pt. 1 (Rainbow Children)
Crimson & Clover (Lotusflow3r)
La La La He He Hee (The B-Sides)
Come (Come)

Best!

Just get The Hits/The B-Sides and then a handful of 5 star albums like SOTT, PR, 1999, and something newer like The Gold Experience and maybe something newer like LotusFlower or something.

Yes these guys are hit, stick to all the big hits that you can find on the Hits 1 and the very best of Prince as they are mostly clean. Take out Cream though as its lyrics are a bit more sexual along with Little Red Corvette.

You can also play songs of Musicology, Planet Earth, Lotusfllow3r and 20Ten, his latest albums are a lot more tame, but probably less remembered by non fans.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

nothing that will be too 'in your face'. it's for a store, it shouldn't distract but compliment.

so no extreme stuff like 'cats being strangled' kind of screams etc.

i'd chose mainly hits, peppered with some album tracks from the past decade that have

a more adult contemporary radio feel to them or a laid back rnb vibe.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I don't know what the store sells or if you'd like special music for peak times. But if it's just a background nice groove I'd use songs (not the hits) so that people come and ask, what cd is that you're playing.

Shy

Space

She spoke to me

When the lights go down

What do you want me to do

I will

77 Beverly Park

Don't play me

The one u wanna c

The truth

Love like Jazz

I don't know what mood or atmosphere you're aiming for, but I can guarantee you there are loads from which to choose.
