I'd like 5 new bandmembers back! (john, rhonda, and the horns pray)

Eager to see who the other person is. I wasn't too enthused by this latest band, but didn't think they were horrible or anything. They were just okay.

I just hope the new band - if there is some wholesale change - isn't too heavy with the horns. There've been times when he just overdid it with the horn section.

Here's hoping for a great new album and good times on this little European tour. I'll do the latter if we get the former.

I also like the rock solid groove of Josh and Cora Dunham.

eek

Rock solid.......like a brick.

They are pedestrian musicians and have no business performing with Prince.

I agree, Cora and Josh to me play like their connecting the dots and doing paint by numbers. I have nothing more to say about them.

Erm, why Eddie? You don't need an extra sax and Eric is way better than Eddie M.

Why Eddie? Because there's something about his sound that fits in wonderfully with Prince's music. Eric and Prince have more of the perfect, classic ultimate fit, but Eddie's contributions back in the day were ELECTRIC!

Just because Cory is out doesn't mean that Josh is. However, if that's the case, I hope the returning player is Brownmark! Wouldn't that be cool?

I'm actually being nice. They add less than ZERO 2 Prince's live show.

Huh? We only got to see him on one tour, one configuration of the band, one style of music. lol. He wasn't even on all of the songs.

I know Tal never played with P on tour but could she be in the band? That would be amazing and since she has rehearsed all Prince albums this summer according to what Morris told me in Arras back in July... eek

Tal Wilkenfeld? That would be cool. I like her.

But that's a new bandmember.

Still wondering who the other returning bandmember could be....

Who is Tal Winkenfeld and what does she play?

Edit: Never mind. I saw an earlier post. smile

Looks like the bassist is Ida

Ida Nielsen aka Ida Funkhouser, BassIda

TC Electronic equipment:
RH450, 2xRS210

Myspace: www.myspace.com/girlonbass

BassIda is an extraordinary bass player who goes by a number of different artist names. You may know her as Ida Funkhouser or simply Ida Nielsen, but more importantly than any of her aliases is that she is an incredible player who revels in slap bass technique and is someone who can easily show off and demonstrate the many facets of bass playing.

As well as her solo projects Ida has played with a number of different bands over the years. Her bass career started out in Århus, Denmark, where she developed her slap style to perfection. While she is busy playing in a number of bands her most high profile role is as the bass player in the funk sensation Zap Mama. This is an amazing cross-cultural group led by ‘Afropean’ vocalist and songwriter Marie Daulne. It is a band that fuses African music with R&B and Hip Hop, so it’s certainly a bass playing challenge, but one that BassIda rises to with ease!

BassIda’s solo projects include her recent album Marmalade which is described as ‘a mix of old school Hip Hop and 70’s Funk with a touch of Nusoul, all with ear catching melodies and beautiful ballads’. As well as playing bass – of course – Ida plays all the other instruments on the album.

Ida uses the TC Electronic RH450 with two RS210 cabinets. The presets on the amp allow her to easily switch the sound when using both her Yamaha 4-string ’ and 5-string.

Eddie M is heard during the Glamorous Life live,

Romance 1600 album:love it on Dear Michaelangelo

ATWIAD the Ladder & Temptation, I think his sax actually made the songs better

he was live during the Parade era

I've heard him at aftershows with Sheila & Mazarati

and of course the America live video

I love both of their sounds, Eddie was wicked Eric was slick

Another reason I'd pick both is that Eric also plays the flute and that live flute sound is beautiful while Eddie is keeping with the sax

If Prince wanted to do something REALLY cool, he'd stock his band with members of the Org.

How cool would that be? Promote and play a one-off concert with your band made up entirely of your fans. I am positive there are enough first-class musicians on this board to pull it off.

Play a small club, stream the performance through the Org.

This was supposed to be a joke but the more I think about it, the cooler it becomes. It would definitely generate some really good publicity.

Has anyone done anything like this before? I don't think even Bruce Springsteen has done this. Taylor Swift is someone that would do this, but I don't think she has yet.
