so if the recent meeting with warner bros leads to some remasters hitting the market...what would you love to see on them...thinking of the deluxe editions of some albums i have bought....these would be amazing ....imagine purple rain with outtakes , long versions , music from the film on the album..maybe a dvd as well with all things purple.....then on to atwiad, parade , sign and on and on....what would you love to see on them ? ..

all this sounds to good .. and you know it!

disc one, remastered album as it was originally released.

disc two, outtakes, alternate versions, etc.

save the 12" single versions for a box set of their own, as they'll take up too much space that should go to unreleased material.

this is ideal, but we know Prince is stingy when it comes to releasing outtakes, so I'd be just as happy with the 12" stuff on disc two, if that's as far as they're able to take him in this direction.

Deluxe editions would be great, and having unreleased tracks and/or remixes/12inch versions would be fantastic, but i would even settle for just the remasters only, with no extra tracks or second cd.

now purple rain has 3 cds and a dvd...is there enough quality outtakes and b sides and extended/remix stuff to make 3 cds from each album ?...and what about a dvd ?....

thinking about a dirty mind dvd ...there is footage of some dirty mind concerts and some tv and videos of course ...i suppose there could be unseen stuff lying somewhere and this could be the case for all his 80s albums.....the black album might be a problem for a dvd ?...unless someone knows what could go on it ....anyway any thoughts ? ....see who can have us dripping from our mouths in anticipation....

The way we would want them to be, yep, I totally agree. It's just not going to happen. He might let them MAYBE remaster and re-release a few albums (either the ones he wouldn't have to edit or with NEW edits taking place). Maybe include the already compiled b-sides. MAAAAAAYBE some 12" mixes. But I don't ever expect anything more than that. Probably just single discs for most albums.

By the time this is discussed again, cds won't be made anymore anyway....the remaster craze seems to be dying down a bit. Every single day a Prince fan who bought Purple Rain in 1984 is either dying, or has lost interest. The value of his vault, and his career seems to get smaller as each year goes by. Unless he does something now...my chances of winning the Florida Loto is better. He is a legend, but even U2's remasters have not done all that well.....but we can all hope....remasters from For You to Symbol would be great...maybe even "A Tony M never existed Edit" of the DAP and Symbol albums...now THAT would be a remaster I would give my left baby toe 4!

Studio versions of Father's Song, Electric Intercourse, and Witness 4 the Prosecution would be nice.

His albums on vinyl will still sound superior to any remaster...I just replaced my cd version of If I Was Yoru Girlfriend with the 12"....wow.....wow.....
