Albums that have gotten better with time.

Which albums do you like now more then you did say a couple years ago or when it first came out. For me it's Musicology and Come. I like those albums better now then I did when they first were released.

Albums that haven't gotten any better for me are D&P and Rave (his worst album ever). Didn't like rave when it first came out now I can't listen to it at all.

The late 1980s albums after he changed his style beginning with "Around The World In A Day". I've listened to the earlier ones mostly for so many years but I've been playing the late 1980s albums a lot lately to play something different and I've been loving them. Do I still think it was a mistake to release them at the particular time they were released though....yes. evillol

The Chocolate Invasion and Lovesexy.

Only because I never listened to them that much since I was so enamoured with other ablums that came out before them. Everything from Prince, I'm discovering, is pure genius!! worship

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I've always been fond of Dirty Mind and Controversy but they're even better today than when I first got them. Newpower Soul and The Rainbow Children were albums I didn't care for that much at first but they've grown on me quite a lot; not his best work but still good.

Around the World in a Day

I always dug "Paisley Park" "Raspberry Beret" and "Pop Life" but was never too keen on the others. They were okay...

Over the past, oh 10 years, that album has REALLY grown on me.

Only "Temptation" is skipped now.

blunt music She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies.... music blunt

For me, NEWS is more palatable than when it first came out.

In general you see a lot more positive stuff said about C&D and NPS than when they first came out.

Romeoblu

Graffiti Bridge And Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic.

I liked them at the time of release but over the last couple of Years I've played them alot and really love them now.

They bookend the 1990's and for me are his two best albums released in that decade.

I liked most of it upon release, but I can now stomach "When the Lights Go Down" and I don't mind "My Little Pill"...

The albums haven't gotten better (or worse). Your perception of them has changed.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

NOT true - my Rave CD is so scratched it won't play, which is quite an improvement.

I like S.O.T.T. a lot more now then when I first heard it. I knew Dream Factory was the album that was supposed to come out some I'm kinda partial. I love all the albums and that's my least favorite, not because of the music (or lyrics) but the drama behind it.

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

for me it is the reverse, not in a bad way, but prince's past albums dont have the same impact on me now as they did when i first heard them

but i can definitely relate to revisiting an album and finding new things to enjoy about it that i might have missed the first time

this too shall pass
