I certainly hope its not going to be another "Possessed" and a maintain a level of objectivity instead. Looking forward to this.

Ronin Ro did a book on 2Pac's murder that was highly informative.

Possessed was a great read, and had a lot of great truth in it. It filled in a lot of gaps I had in the time line of events. People poo poo it because it didn't kiss Prince's tight little ass. That's their headache to deal with. That book was largely the TRUTH, although every book is going to have exaggerations, errors, or misquotes.

I supposed I'll be anxious to read it, but I always skip the first chapter. I know about his upbringing. The divorce. The siblings. The stepfather. The living w/ Bernadette. The girls. The band. etc etc etc. Chris Moon. Owen Husney. Shopping a deal. The first gig w/ his back turned to the audience. blahblahblah. Tell me something REAL and INTERESTING. Maybe this book will do that.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It seemed like it was the case.

Anyway,,,,I don't need another ass licking account either, there's a wealth of them in Prince' interviews with the press during the past 30+ years and they weren't exactly helping.

That being said, we don't know "the truth"; not the writer nor the reader,,,,we can interpret these speculations as being "truths" but thats neither here nor there.

My issue with "Possessed" was the fact that it was a tad bit one dimensional, great research but repeatedly interrupted by the author's bias(for whatever agenda he had). Whatever happened to objectivity? Let the readers decide on their own and they'll figure out easily whether Prince is an arsehole or a saint without any help from the author. Also, my other issue was the fact that it didn't make a balance between his personal life and his music, it seemed like he was in a rush whenever he discussed his recordings in order to get back to the more important subject - how delighted Prince was/is to stick his dick far up his peers/employers' behinds.

Hopefully this new book digs deeper on the music(released or otherwise) post-Lovesexy, and handles the personal side with the same humanity Per Nilsen did.
