Hey purple people. I've lurked on this board for some time now, and noticed there are some who complain about Prince's overly simplistic, whimsical songs. Now, I do think there are some cases for this, but last night, my Ipod shuffled on Prince's "4ever" and yeah, it was simple, but I felt the optimisim in how he sung the lyric AND the music itself. I couldn't find it pretentious. So I wonder if maybe we have a level of jadedness, where a simple song is regarded as TOO whimsical to be taken seriously. Saying this, I don't like Hot Summer very much actually, but stuff like "4ever" "Feel Better..." and others I can feel.

I think 'Good Love' is quite whimsical, but thats why i love it!
