Maybe he isn't going to tour the U.S. because...

He actually comes on this and perhaps other forums and sees all the bitching and moaning about how "he sucks now" and various other assorted negative comments. He probably figures not enough people would buy tickets to his shows. The thing is, I bet if he DID tour, it would be successful, and most of the haters would go anyway. I blame all the people with the attitudes of entitlement in the U.S., and that is pretty much the attitude of MOST of the people in this country. Nothing is ever good enough for this generation of instant gratification and the previous me, me, me generation. I can't say I blame him, but I DO wish he would change his mind. We aren't ALL like that. Hey Prince, you don't have to only play huge stadiums, you could play smaller places so the true fans could still get a chance to see you in concert. All this is of course, Just My Humble Opinion, but I would be willing to bet there's others (here with us) who feel the same way.

I'm just saying...

Prince choosing not to tour the USA at this moment will have nothing to do with people on this site complaining.

I think he is smarter than that. He is not gonna let a few negative comments on a website decide whether he tours in a certain place or not.

Honestly, the negative opinions of some on the internet are not a reflection of real life at all. Prince gets love when he tours the states. His last major tour (Musicology 2004) was the biggest of the year and one of the most successful/well received of his career. Also, he did change it up a bit afterwards by doing a stint in Vegas that was also well received/successful.

So, while I agree that there is a good amount of fans who bitch and moan here at the org, nearly each and everyone of them are scrambling to get tickets when Prince comes to their town. They may front like they are crossing their arms with a scowl at the set list, but the truth is they are screaming like little girls, and having a good time like the rest of the crowd...

You can't blame the Americans for all the bitching and moaning that is done on the org! I see plenty of Europeans bitching and moaning on the boards. And I see plenty of people who love everything about Prince - Europeans and Americans alike.

But - hell - I'm all for him coming to America to tour and if I have to kiss his ass on the org just because I think he's reading, then.... lips

The members of this site probably represent barely 1% of Prince fans around the US. I know plenty of people who like/love Prince but have never heard of prince.org.

All good points. Also, while I was standing in the shower thinking a few moments ago, it occurred to me that perhaps he decided to release 20ten in Europe then tour Europe, after which, he would release it in the states, then tour the states. That way, the album is still "fresh" before the tour. And yes, I totally agree that all the bitchers will be scrambling for tickets even as they type about how it's a ripoff, and the setlist sucks. I will be one of those who is happy for an excellent new album, and the chance to see one of the greatest performers of our time in concert again.

The internet is dead, so I doubt he's here reading our comments. All of which are NOT bad, btw.

Any Prince tour of appropriately sized venues will be succesful. He could have continued doing sold out arena shows after the Musicology tour (which was QUITE succesful only six years ago) if he'd kept at it. Not sure he'll be able to do that right now in this economy.

Yep, I've seen it too. A sensitive fan might take all this bashing to heart and have a hard time understanding this type of fan. I could understand if it bothered Prince also rose I'm very grateful for all the good music and ideas he shares. True, everyone is entitled to their opinion but why waste time complaining. Life needs to be enjoyed, find another artist to heart . I would if I didn't heart Prince.

Go to any YouTube or other outlet where his videos are shown and there are comments, and about all you will see are "Prince is the best!"

So on balance, the Internet is full of way more American positive comments than negative - even given the negativity of about 6 people on the Org.

Therefore, your theory has been refudiated.

Prince gets more positive responses outside the ORG than here lol

So I doubt he's affected by what we average Joes have to say. lol

Besides he's a grown ass man, why would he listen to a 25-year-old ORGER telling him what to do? lol

I know, right? lol

People kill me with this notion that the org is the be all and end all of everything Prince. This site probably represents less than ten percent of people who attend his shows.

Does anyone outside of the org care what is said here? For the most part, no. It would be foolish of Prince to give too much consideration to what goes on here.

WAY less than ten percent, for sure. I know Prince fans who have never had anything to do with his various online communities and don't care what happens in them in the slightest. There really aren't that many people here in the grand scheme of Prince fandom.

He will tour the U.S. Because:

1. Even after charging us $77 for a size half small T Shirt, and then personally killing the internet, he knows WE LOVE HIM.

2. He can then place 77 tracks on 20Ten to Symbolize and make fun of the 77 Bones he stole form us in the first place. ( I am guilty of posting this in multiple threads...sue me).

3. He can charge $20 for a Face Down cassette tape, or even $50 for a Jughead 8-Track. Why? WE LOVE HIM.

I can leave a semi-negative sarcastic post like this, and then praise him in my next post. Why? I love Him. He has given me enough music to last a lifetime. If he wants to be a jerk, have a bad business relationship with his fans, fine. I have had a blast being a John Mellencamp fan, but Mellencamp couldn't come up with Old Friends 4 Sale(original) or If I Was Your Girlfriend....even if Jack and Diane hit him on the Mellenhead!!

Oh quit your groveling! It's just embarassing! disbelief

If Prince does not tour the US, it won't be because of anything that has ever been said on this board.

Folks around here were much, much harder on him before he came out with Musicology and he still toured the US with it, when it came out. So there goes your theory.

Trust me, the money he's making right now, is not going to last long. Just sit back and wait til he needs another cash injection. He'll be back, quicker than you can say, "Mooooooooo!"

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

He plays these obscure songs that have been RECENTLY mentioned repeatedly on the .org, (Purple Music, Large Room..., etc.) and everybody wants to claim he doesn't check this place out. He is no mind reader, 20ten seems almost like a direct plea to the .org to STOP HATING. He gave most of you what you said you wanted (aside from an ACTUAL release in the U.S. which he knows we all already have anyway, and will gladly pay for it if/when it is released in America) with a retro-progressive sound, Linn drums and all. But no, you all claim (as if you somehow know) that he does not read some of these posts. I don't claim to know shit, but I DO have my suspicions that he is more "connected" than many of you realise. (I like parethesis a lot.) HE PLAYED "PURPLE MUSIC"! Just recently, there was a thread about this song (I had never even heard it, and I have heard most of the earlier outtakes to my knowledge) and a few months later he breaks it out for EUROPE. Fucking American haters. Just My Opinion Which I Am Fully Entitled To.

P.S. It can't be groveling if he never comes here.
