He was implying that there were a lot of places...other countries and continents that didn't get it either....

Exactly. lol

I hope Isabell didn't think I meant it that way. reading

I believe you, Militant. Why WOULDN'T he release it here? And (yes, I am well aware that a sentance should not start with the word "and") considering that many folks from the U.S. already have it in one form or another, why WOULDN'T he include a little extra something so as not to make us feel "ripped off" or whatever? Fucking A people, is this NOT a Prince FAN site? Quitcherbitchin! Why would you just ASSUME that Militant is full of shit? Where is YOUR proof? I just love how everybody has all the answers on the internet.

I, for one, am down with Militant. crysball

Italy

Spain

Czech Republic

Turkey

Finland

Switzerland

Iceland

Sweden

The Netherlands

Denmark

Austria

Russia

Hungary

Norway

Bulgaria

Slovakia

Poland

Then add non-European countries like Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Canada, Mexico and Brazil to name a few.

Nonsense. There is absolutely no rule against beginning a sentence with "and."

there is in that the sentence must still have a subject

I think what some people don't understand about Europe is that it's a host of a lot of countries whereas the United States is just that...a country of states. That's why it's an unfair comparison to think Europe "got it". Because if you ask someone from Switzerland if he got the new Prince album, they'd go "what new Prince album?" The UK doesn't represent all of Europe, neither does Germany, neither does Belgium, neither does France (though France, UK and Germany is all most talk about concerning Europe). I'm guessing Prince has a big fan base in the selected countries, either that or he just wanted to make deals with countries that still were selling newspapers and magazines overseas.

Can we start a sentence with a conjunction?

"You must not start a sentence with a conjunction" has been the mantra of many an exasperated English teacher, especially since the oiks started getting state education. Any pupil brave, daft or naive enough to raise a hand and ask "Why?" would probably have received some Kafkaesque explanation along the lines of "Because it is said."

So now we're all grown up, we'll ask again – why? The honest answer is that there is no reason. It's just an arbitrary rule that's been passed through the ages. But all language is arbitrary, isn't it? Words and letters are but abstract concepts, the understanding of which can only come through the education of rules.

As usual with these issues, the argument is between the way English is used and the way it is "supposed to be". Sometimes a full stop is required to drive home a sentence or give a meaningful pause. And an afterthought like this one gets more impact when it's a sentence rather than a conjoined clause. So when someone tells you not to start a sentence with a conjunction, say: "But I've already done it."

What is a conjunction?

A conjunction is a word that joins two clauses, phrases or words together. By this rigid definition, it's not hard to see why some people think they can't be used to start a sentence. Some conjunctions are and, but, or, nor, yet, so and for, and our language has evolved enough to accommodate them at various points in a sentence. Just try not to end a sentence with one ... unless it's absolutely necessary.

So, it's now ok, but only in the sense that rolling stops at stop signs are now allowed in PA. It's because people simply WILL NOT follow the rules, so why have them? By that line of thinking, I assujme the U.S. will be legalizing Marijuana any day now.

I'm just saying...

Why cant he just give 20Ten a proper release? He could have done like he did with planet eart. newspaper+record label so everybody would be pleased. What went wrong this time? And hes decision 2 not release it on the net is one of his most stupid moves ever.

English is my first language. I am well aware of what cryptic means. And your "somebody who did something with someone told me something about someone's something" jive is cryptic at best. If you shouldn't be running your mouth about shit because the person who told you either 1) didn't want you to or 2) would get in trouble for leaking information, then STFU and calm down with your baseless assertions.

Too many "somebodys" and "somethings" in your post. Let me break it down for you, son.

Person A worked on the album and I asked him for information.

Is that so hard?

I never said I shouldn't be running my mouth, and I'm HARDLY going to "get in trouble" since the person actually HINTED PUBLICALLY MORE THAN ONCE about the same shit I asked them about it. It doesn't even take more than a few brain cells for anyone to figure out who I'm talking about.

cool biggrin

Who cares, though?

The people still asking for a US release date, that's who.

People want it. They don't want to have to go to eBay or a Uk friend or wherever to get a copy. Whether you like it or not, other folks (like you, me and whoever) are collectors. They want the album, in hand, not digitally only. It's understandable. They're fans, and completists at times.

Thanks. Anybody who has talked to me for more than a minute knows I don't have time to sit around making shit up. I share some information, people don't want to believe it, fine.

It's people like that that make things worse for people like you. Maybe next time I get some information I won't be as quick to let other people know because it's tiresome that people want to try and "call me out" like I really don't have better things to do than talk bullshit on a fucking message board.

Moving on.... I personally love the album.

I can't confirm that there absolutely will be new material added, it just seems likely to me. At the absolute least it'll just be a US-release in a standard jewelcase or digipack. Kinda like the difference between the US release of "Planet Earth" and the UK cardsleeve covermount. A proper digipack with additional inside artwork and credits. For any kind of widescale physical distribution, that's what would be needed, minimum.
